Hello,

I have done a repeater from a Dlink DIR-825 with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (04/18/14) std and it works great.
But now i want to do the same for repeating an hidden network (empty eSSID) to my own visible network (xith eSSID).
so i need to enter the mac adress (bSSID) instead of the network name (eSSID) true?
How can i do this in the field ssid?
Can i enter directly the mac adress like xx:xx:xx:xx:xx in the ssid field?

Thanks for your help,
it's appear to be a basic question but i'm searching for 2 hours and didn't find the answer, maybe because my english is bad...

Thanks for the quick answer

but when i enter the bSSID like xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx it connect, it create my network, i can access to the DD-WRT configuration page but no internet.
I have same problem with a visible network if i enter directly the bSSID. (And it works if i enter the eSSID)

Is it because i'm in bridge mode? (no other option with my router...)

& by ssid i meant essid, the same way any other client would connect to a hidden ssid network a laptop etc, still have to specify the network name. u said essid works, so there where is the issue?

Well,
it doesn't works with a bSSID
hidden network or not.

(And it works with the eSSID on the same network unhidden)

Maybe because i'm in bridge mode?

And it does not work with the eSSID with a hidden network? You didn't answer this yet!

But what's the reason for a hidden network? It really doesn't fit to the standard.

OK i know why i didnt understood you Smile

I thought a hidden network has not name (empty eSSID), but i was wrong sorry.

So i just asked for the eSSID (who was hidden) and now it's OK Smile Smile Smile

But i have a question remaining, when you have 2 networks with same name/eSSID (case of repeater), how can you force the client to connect to a specific network? Not possible to connect directly to a bSSID?

Thanks for your help!

Hidden is not the same as empty. Wink

If you create a WDS, you can enter every MAC-Address for AP and Repeaters. If you don't use a WDS, perhaps you can config it with a MAC-Filter.
