Good morning everyone!
I have a (quite) old DIR-615 rev. D1, with the last ddwrt firmware.
Yesterday I've noticed that the WiFi connection didn't worked anymore, so I've rebooted the router (unplug the power cable and then plugged in again).
Now the router is unusable. When I put the power cord in, the power-on light flash for 200 msec I think, and then the WPS blue light switch on (all the other lights are off). I've soldered a serial header and with my Raspvberry I can read the output:
Quote:
U-Boot 1.1.3 (Oct 13 2008 - 23:20:00) (Alpha) - SVN revision : 94

Model: WRGN22 for DLINK

Board: RT2880 DRAM: 32 MB

nothing else.

Of course I've tried to push the reset button, but it has no effect. Crying or Very sad

Is there something that I can do or the modem is gone away forever? Crying or Very sad

Thanks and sorry for my bad english Embarassed

It is very bad if it hangs at U-boot as it can't be recovered by serial + TFTP. I have no idea what else you can do.

Thank you very much for you reply
So the router is gone forever...

Has Someone an idea of what is technically happened to my router?
(I haven't done any flash nor changed any record in the settings recently)
Moreover this model haven't got a jtag header, so I can't write the firmware using a programmer, right?

Looks like flash corruption to me but it can be hardware failure. If it is a flash corruption, it happens at the bootloader area which can't be fixed by simply flashing the firmware even if you take out the flash memory and reprogram it. You need to recover the bootloader. BTW, I suppose you can't ping to the router anymore. Right?

You are right, I can't ping the router...
If I connect the pc to the router, no light on the router switch on and the DHCP is not available, but Windows tell me the eterneth is connected even if it can't acquire an Ip address.
I tried to use static I but I can't ping... Sad

This also happened to mine, it it now doing exactly the same thing,
Orange power light on and off, then WPS button blue light comes on.
Given that it has 01-19-2018-r34578 on it, I will not be surprised that
if there's some bug that haven't been fixed (or even discovered) yet since 2014.

If someone is interested in fixing the bug I am willing to donate the (bricked)router.

Simply unplug the power cable and then plugged in again won't work anymore. You need to hard reset your D-Link DIR-615. But before that you know how to configure it back. Anyway its very easy. Just do it and let me know whether it solve the WiFi issue. You can get more information about Dlink router from this page. Also check how to configure Dlink Wifi from this page. https://routersetuppage.com/routers/dlink-dir-615-router-settings/
