Tried to flash source from list of supported devices:-
WR1043ND 2.x-Qualcomm/Atheros QCA9558-AT4A@720
wr1043ndv2 - build 24118 - 20140523
Current data
Firmware 3.15.31 build 130952 Rel 32445n
Hardware WR1043 V2 00000000
Followed procedure to the letter only to get “error code 18005 version of upgrade file incorrect”
Repeated several time with IE & Chrome to no avail.
Flashed TP Link firmware upgrade and all went well.
File name TL-WR1043ND_V2_140613
Went back to try DDWRT file again and same error code.
I have trawled the forums and google etc and am going round in circles. Hence the post here.
Can anyone please help in laymans terms
I also tried changing the name of the bin file to the name of the TP-Link latest file but it was still rejected.
I guess they must have built some check into the latest stock firmware, as I've seen other posts here to say they installed DD-WRT successfully on v2.1.
Does anyone know is it OK to flash factory-to-ddwrt.bin over the stock firmware? Maybe that will downgrade it to an older version that doesn't do this check.

I flashed mine (V2.1) a week ago. I had no issues doing it but now I would like to go back to the stock firmware...there are issues with the ddwrt flash on this router. This new router is not sitting in the closet
Try doing a 30 30 30 reset on the device prior to flashing. Mine worked on the first attempt. Be certain you are selecting the factory to ddwrt file.
Don't try to flash over a wireless connection.
Try a different computer if you are having issues. (I've been working mostly on WIN7 machines.) _________________ Rosewill RNX N150RT w/25309
