In any case, you still need tftp image file which seem to be difficult for find.
All dd-wrt or from buffalo are not the tftp image file.
The dd-wrt ftfp file I've found is at

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2010/02-23-10-r13972/WHR-G300N/

try firmware.tftp both with and without rename to firmware.bin

So the file ending in tftp should be a flash file? I assume I can just go with the basic one then upgrade to a newer one later?

Yes. I also do the same. I keep the dd-wrt tftp image file to ensure that I can de-brick my router or switch back from open-wrt to dd-wrt.

When I get a working router, I upgrade using web-flash image again.

I still haven't had any luck. Hoping someone else may have. My router has been pretty reliable until these bad firmwares as of late.

Can anyone point me to a thread which discusses the bad firmware as of late and any possible solutions or updates?

Hi All,

I have the same problem and I want to flash a build from March to my router but the webinterface do not accept the build.

Could someone support us and explain how we can get back to a build from March so that we can use this router again?

Hi All,

based on the following HowTo: http://g300nh.blogspot.de/2010/06/firmware-flash-and-brick-recovery.html
I was able to flash the orginal image v1.95. Tomorrow I will flash DD-WRT again Rolling Eyes

Anyway just some tips from my site:
* check if you use 00:1D:12:34:56:78 or 00-1D-12-34-56-78
* disable the windows firewall
* switch to "router ON"
* I used the windows tftp client with the command: tftp -i 192.168.11.1 PUT c:\firmware

Was that the original Buffalo firmware? If not, where did you get it?

So, I've never been able to get the firmware to revert, so I set the router aside. I see now there are a bunch of newer firmwares. Is the 12-22-2014-r25697 firmware safe to use...if I can get it to take via the web flash?
