Hi,

I purchased this router and it came with
Router Model Buffalo WHR-HP-G300N
Firmware Version DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) std - build 14896
I d like to know which is the best/mosta stable version and which file shall I use to upgrade it
the buffalo to DD-wrt web flash
or
the 2nd one
I think the 2nd as on my router there is the DD-WRT logo and not the Buffalo

thanks

should be buffalo_whr_hp_g300n/whr-hp-g300n-firmware-MULTI.bin usually its webflash but for this one it says "buffalo-to-ddwrt" meaning stock -> ddwrt..might take a long time to update or soft brick many with buffalo units seems to do that for whatever reason

Sorry it is not clear yet
in my case I have DD-WRT logo so I believe it was update from the shop I purchased it, from my understanding the 1st taht say Buffalo to ddwrt it should be the file to do 1st time to convert it to ddwrt and teh2nd file is simple to use to upgrade the ddwrt version so my case, correct?
when you say it takes a long time ... what does it mean exactly that can get stuck and i need to do some procedures? in case which1? I bought this to replace my old WRT54 with ddwrt with the Nvram issue

thanks again

My WHR-HP-G300N had the "user-friendly" version from Buffalo. I then flashed it with Buffalo's official DD-WRT port, which is quite old.

First, I tried buffalo-to-dd-wrt_webflash-MULTI.bin first, reasoning that technically, the dd-wrt I had was from buffalo, but thankfully, buffalo's dd-wrt just issued an upgrade failed without much fuss.

Then, I flashed it with 06-05-2015-r27240/whr-hp-g300n-firmware-MULTI.bin.

It worked. (Or it seems to have, I'm still testing it.)
