Yes, I know there's a tread talking about BR-6224n, and another one about BR-6524N and here's my BR-6424n. It has the same hardware (and I guess the same bootloader) as BR-6524N (probably 6324N too).
It has RT2880F SoC, RT2820L as wifi chip and IC175C as switch chip, 4MB flash rom and 16MB ram.
The TFTP mode is the same as other Edimax units such as BR-6574n. And the factory firmware shows a identical image layout as BR-6574n. just as kmmng said:

CSYS format used by edimax routers is :
"CSYS" signature
then
00 00 c0 00
00 00 05 00
(I don't know what it means but it seems it should always have this values), then
4 character model id, which is "WNRA" for 6524n (this value is used only by edimax webflash and ignored by tftp loader),
then
4 bytes - image file size excluding the header but including the checksum at the end of the file.
then goes the image - kernel and rootfs,
then the checksum of the image excluding the header, also 4 bytes.
the checksum is calculated by reading the image word by word and adding it to the sum, then not(sum)+1.

just one thing, the 4 character model id is "N2RL" instead.
a modified 6524n tftp dd-wrt firmware can be successfully uploaded to the router through tftp, but it will brick it due to differences in chipsets especially the switch chip, i guess.

a factory original firmware is enclosed for reference.

Afterall, all familiar chips, no special one.
Could someone kindly support this unit? Sash, brainslayer, come on. It wont hurt to support one more model, will it? Very Happy
