Would be nice if you could add new patterns from the web interface, rather than having to wait for a DD-WRT update just to get new L7 patterns. I still find v23 SP2 to be working just fine for my small home network and internet connection, and the only thing I'd ever like to change is adding/modifying L7 patterns. Hopefully this is something simple enough to implement. I've written a new pattern for a new game, but can't use it because I don't see any way to easily add a new pattern to the existing v23 SP2 installation.

I'm interested in this too. Been googling and searching for a way to add/modify patterns within dd-wrt. For the Tomato firmware, new custom patterns can be added via /etc/l7-extra directory. Is there no equivalent way to do this in dd-wrt?

guys..what do u think we should do with an unsupported version? do you want latest stuff (this includes patterns too) u must upgrade.

@_Shorty

if u have written a now pattern file, nice!
u just have to check if its not existing on the l7 filter page and if not just send it to the guys and they will add it. with the next sync we will get it too

I really REALLY wanted to put some limits on YouTube over my network. I thought I was almost there, until I realized I can't add a simple pattern file. Last response I see here is from back in 2010, and it's now 2015. I have found, and would like to use, a pattern from 2012. It doesn't appear as if the patterns are being updated as regularly as everyone used to think they would. My router doesn't support JFFS, it doesn't have USB media as an option, and I don't see any other way to modify the L7-patterns in /etc. Anybody have any help?

For what it's worth, my configuration is...

@Sash - Thanks for your reply. The build I got is just the one I found in the router database. If there is a newer one, I can't say I know where to find it. <embarrassed grin>

As for the filter - I believe this is it. (I'm at work right now, but I THINK my quick little search put me on the same source I found at home.) Anyway, here's the link:
