best firmware for tp-link wr741nd v4 ?

Hi gurus!

I have a tp-link wr741nd v4 router, and flashed it to r21061 from the "router database" result.

My question is: this is the best version, or recommend a newer/older to this device? Not perfectly work, ssh login unsuccessful, PPPoE not connected... still investigating...

Try r25697 or an older release?

I'm in the similar boat.
I am using r24461 on my TL-WR741ND v4.23
I am unable to use it as AP mode for some reason. Which is what I need to use so I too am looking for another build that is more stable.
