Hi, I have a dual band router purchased in Europe. I noted the wifi specification for the router is "2.412-2.462GHz (channel 1-11) 5.180-5.320GHz (channel 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 64)" , and I know in europe they are only allowing useage for those channels for personal wireless router.
I am wondering, if I take the router to use in the United States, where in the 5ghz band allows frequency 5.745ghz to 5.825ghz to be used as well (channel 149, 153, 157, 161), would I be able to select those frequency/channels with the european router? Or I won't be able to since they are locked out? and I will need to buy a US router instead to access those channels? are there other compatibility issues between the europe router and US router that makes the european router not useable in the united states?
I have the buffalo whr-600D router, the european version, model is actually whr-600D-EU, i know that i am able to flash whr-600d with ddwrt from the ddwrt support device page, but does that extend to the EU model as well? or only the US model? As I can't seem to find much information and specs on the EU version, the information I found is mostly for the the US version. THey should have the same hardware and specs right?
