I flashed my wndr3400.V2 with firmware from my open router I saw another download on line said it was for this router and I flashed it now the router reports its a linksystem wrt54g/gl/gs with v24-sp2 21676 5/27/13. Here is the Issue I can only connect to it wireless I tried to reflash it with the correct firmware to include original netgear factory flash and it will not take just resets as if it is the wrong firmware.I tried 30/30/30 reset. is there a pin short or a firmware flash to try that will fix this I tried to TFTP2 and ping at same time did not work . the computer does not see it on the Ethernet side only wireless and I can see the control panel of the router. As for lights I only have a solid amber light for power . Thank you for reading this hoping someone can help . please not this is a version 2 .it is a Broadcom BMC5357. and it did work with v24-k26 from my open router. _________________ Linksys 54g (all versions)

still playing looking for the right wireless repeater with 1/2+ mile range .all were free routers.
What exact firmware did you flash? You likely need a serial cable to fix it. See the peacock announcement note 6 _________________ SIG:

WHICH 21676? K24 on a k26 router? In any event, you probably need a serial cable. Peacock, note 6. _________________ SIG:

before you do anything else that might make the router inaccessible, please enable ssh and telnet on the router, then telnet in, and enter the command:
cat /proc/mtd
this will give a layout of the flash file system.
netgear routers have a board_data partition which can be overwritten with garbage from a wrong firmware, in which case you can't load factory firmware, or if you do, it may not boot.
the procedure to recover is complicated if board_data is screwed up.
