Bugs for UBNT ERLite build 26635:

UPnP works only if the client uses DHCP..
A client with static IP address does not open ports with UPnP at DD-WRT,
ports do not appear in GUI or iptables.. Tested with Xbox360 and Playstation3.
So far, actually this is not a big thing, but some people like to use static
ip addresses..

The second BUG is really a bug..

Take a look at the QoS GUI -> add Services Priority:

100bao at once is a Layer7 filter protocol..
It appears in GUI but there should be openDPI protocols.

http://svn.dd-wrt.com/browser/src/router/l7/protocols?rev=26635

100bao does not exist in openDPI filters.. It seems that in newer builds layer7 and openDPI protocols are inside.
This is from actual build:

http://www.directupload.net/file/d/3937/p98ch6nz_jpg.htm

I checked nearly all GUI seen protocols, there are layer7 and openDPI as it seems..

Could someone please report these bugs..? Or should this as it is?
I couldnt post at SVN Trac because registration is broken.

Hi Klaus, How did you get dhcp to work on r26635? I tried getting dhcp working on r26622, and r26635 without any success using the gui. I did not attempt to do so using cli.. The last build i tried and worked was r25309. It also seems like web/gui backup does not work.

Hi currowth,

i just configured everything new after upgrading to newer or downgrading to older builds. After upgrade, i recommend "Restore Factory Defaults" and after this, also do a 30/30/30 reset. Then just make your configuration again. This prevents problems from importing config files which may not good for your actual build. Most of the time, it is possible to import older config files but it´s an unclean solution.

I tried doing a 30/30/30 after installing the new build, but i was not getting any ip address. I had to do everything via static ip.

Ok, i only use static ip´s for my clients, except for multimedia, like xbox and ps3. But after configuration, everything works for you?

Strange, for me it is working, my dhcp clients getting ip adresses and backup and restore also works. Please try build 26138 and report again.

I tried the firmware you recommended, but i am still running into the same problem. Did you change any settings after flashing? What port did you connect to your pc.

Thats really strange, build 26138 is the best running build for me. For me, it doesnt matter which port i was connected.
All the three ETH ports are bridged by default.

After installing, i did the following steps:

1.) Firmware restored to default settings.

2.) Do a 30/30/30 reset.

3.) At the Setup/Basic Setup, choose your WAN connection and configure it, i choosed PPPoE with VLAN7 for my provider.
Make your Settings at THIS page only and if you have done first Save, then Apply Settings. You can leave your PPPoE Settings blank, it´s just important to make them. After this, just reboot your router.

4.) After restart go to page 192.168.1.1/Vlan.asp and disable all VLAN from the interfaces. The VLAN.asp page is hidden, so to reach it, you have to use your.router.ip.address/Vlan.asp in your browser.

Then Save + Apply Settings and reboot like in step 3.
After restart check, if settings are the same you made in 0.0.0.0/Vlan.asp.

5.) After restart go to Setup/Networking and add eth1 + eth2 to br0. Save, then Apply Settings and reboot.

6.) After reboot, FIRST backup your settings under Administration/Backup. I called mine "nvrambak-initial-buildxxxxx.bin

7.) Then make your settings you just want and need and have fun with ddwrt at ERLite-3.

Sorry for the late reply, may you post your network layout? Do you maybe have another router or something else with dhcp server in your network? Or do you maybe use a managed switch where you have to enable dhcp relay or something? Actually i use build 25408, it seems to be the last build before big changes have made. Take a look at the file size build25408 -> 37192 KB and build25527 -> 45820 KB. But mostly i dont have any problems with dd-wrt, it is running very good, except a few small things.

HI Klaus,
I disabled all my dhcp router. ISP goes to eth0, eth1 is connected to my main switch which connects all my devices. For my test I plugged eth1 directly to my pc and i don't get any dhcp address. I tried flashing to a new usb, same issue.

Thank you all for starting this thread. I have an ER-lite that's been sitting in the box because I lost my infatuation with stock firmware. I decided to go with DD-WRT on it. My current routers also use DD-WRT. They will become APs or and an inside network after I get the ER lite working.

Which is the most stable new release to start with? I have a flash drive for it on order and have downloaded some software that is said to make it easy to load onto the flash drive.

An earlier post stated 25408 worked well. Anything else?

I plan to use the ER lite for OpenVPN and SSH server for remote browser pass through over public wifi. I want to keep main network away from the outside pass through access. The current wireless ones will do wireless AP duties only if breaking it into 2 networks is a bad idea. Otherwise, they'll be a 2nd subnet. I don't think DD-WRT supports many firewall tasks other than NAT and SPI unless you're an iptables expert ... if I am wrong please correct me.

Thanks, again.

Edit 4/13/2015

I tried 26635 and also could not get dhcp working. I decided to not pay for a licence since performance was questionable. I reloaded the stock firmware and have decided to try to get OpenVPN server, No-ip DDNS, and a secure ssh tunnel installed using the CLI. I'll try DD-WRT later if this effort fails.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/

Win32diskimager worked great in loading the DD-WRT image onto a cruzer fit flash drive. I also backed up the stock ER-lite firmware using it and loaded it onto another cruzer fit. The Er-lite / cruzer image also worked great.
