I have a wr-1043nd v1.8 setup as a client bridge with a virtual wlan which is attached to the main house router (a BT Home Hub 3).
Although the admin page of the home hub will report the host names of the devices, the status/lan page on the wr-1043nd only shows "*" under the host name of all devices.

Is there anything that can be done to have dd-wrt report the host names?

no cause its acting as a bridge, the info is still passed down to devices connecting through it, at least it should be, wds does.

I've now upgraded to a dual band home hub 5.
Its a much more stable router now that the openreach modem has been done away with.
The weak point in the network was that modem locking up regularly.
This new infinity home hub has the modem built in and its flying!!!
still the problem persists of no reporting of the proper host names associated with mac addresses.
I can connect to a usb network drive connected to the WR-1043 from anywhere in the network but.... is there no way round this reporting issue???

Please some clarification on this issue from a forum lifer?
