There was actually an unannounced release April 14, but other than that I haven't seen hide nor hair of Kong either. And it was posted as a .bin only, so if you were on stock firmware you needed to update to the previous .img so that you could update to the new .bin. Unless you had already flashed the previous .img, that is *smile*. That was the case here.
Thanks @gufus for pointing that update out to me from Kaloz. Nice update. Thanks @Kaloz for your work. I should learn that when I name names I always leave someone out.

No offence taken
David Lin dlin[at]marvell[dot]com from marvell.com fixed the driver, not kaloz, I opened the issue. _________________ WRT3200ACM openwrt 18.06.5

They used to blame Marvell for not releasing a good driver, so that's wrong.
A single user was able to point out a flaw and have it corrected (thanks).
so...
1. Does Linksys already have the cleaned-up, pretty/shiny version, so no updates (since December) are necessary?
2. Is DD-WRT still officially not supporting WRT-1900AC (that was a bad question, please use your own words).
3. Does Kong's driver (anyone's driver) let a person use Unii-2 (channel 100)?
Thanks in advance
Kong, since this router has 2 firmware partitions what do you suggest as a standard for upgrading the ddwrt firmware to a newer version of ddwrt?
In other words, running your firmware on flash partition 2 & wanting to upgrade that partition to a newer version of ddwrt should we just run the gui upgrade or do we need to boot off the backup flash partition 1 (Linksys firmware)?
Would hate to brick the thing already. _________________ Router currently owned:

The press really hated the fan 1900AC fan.
It probably saved .59 cents to not include it.
I also see they lowered the power supply rating.
I want my fan, I like my fan.
Hasn't ever come on in a year, but I still like it.
Now, if they'd said "V2 has more channels", "V2 complies with the new FCC rules", I might have sat up and taken notice, and budgeted living like a monk for a month to buy yet another one (I have two V1).
I still want a signal meter and channel 100.
It won't matter much if it comes from Kong or not, but Linksys/cisco/Belkin seem to have abandoned TPS and Unii-2
Not sure how the fan was implemented in oem fw, but it is now implemented as pwm fan which allows to control the fan speed in steps, unlike gpio fan which only allowed on (at full speed) or off.
When I ran tests it was not necessary to run it at full speed, thus you cannot really hear the fan at all.
