This build thread is for reporting successes and problem with loading this experimental test build. This is important info for developers and users. Always state your hardware and SPECIFIC build. (eg: 27086_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv64k.bin). Do not ask questions about your specific router or how to configure it in this thread; create your own thread to discuss any specific problems you have or need resolved. This thread is to report info, not to seek it. Posts that do not add to understanding this build will be deleted. Make sure you know how to flash properly and the risk before using this build. It is important to adhere to these requirements, to keep this thread from becoming impossibly long and useless. If you don't know what build to flash and how to flash properly and have a means of recovery if things should go wrong, do NOT flash this experimental test build. _________________ THERE ARE NO STRANGERS HERE; ONLY FRIENDS YOU HAVEN'T YET MET.

Ok who's the wiseguy?? This [dd-wrt.v24-27086_NEWD-2_K3.x_mega-e2500.bin] (file = 8,037,376 bytes) will NOT go on a E2500.
I will owe you one for that, Mr BS Tried from reset K3- build 26866M. Leaves same firmware.
Tried couple times then I took it down to firmware management mode and tried couple more times
-- K3.x_mega-e2500.bin will not go, aint no way.
Installed from FW management mode the [dd-wrt.v24-27086_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e2500.bin]
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (05/27/15) mini - build 27086
Linux 2.6.24.111 #25609 Wed May 27 00:28:59 CEST 2015 mips
Tried K3.x_mega-e2500.bin again and that put into FW M mode on its own.
Installed from FW M mode the [dd-wrt.v24-27086_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e2500.bin]
then installed [dd-wrt.v24-27086_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv60k.bin]
DD-WRT v24-sp2 (05/27/15) big - build 27086

Cannot connect to VAP with security ... and when you enable security on the VAP it will quit broadcasting.
Reboot.. still no VAP until its security is disabled....works good then..ha

Status: Dnsmasq not working for DNS, and not getting DHCP via Dnsmasq
Reset: Yes
Errors: Unable to get DNS services or DHCP leases with dnsmasq.
I checked the /tmp/dnsmasq.conf file, and noticed that in this version there was this following entry near the top of the file:
Code:
port=0
This was not present in previous builds, and to quote the text from the sample conf file by the manager/creator of dnsmasq:
Code:
# Listen on this specific port instead of the standard DNS port
# (53). Setting this to zero completely disables DNS function,
# leaving only DHCP and/or TFTP.
#port=5353
I believe this new entry of "port=0" could perhaps be the problem.
I was able to manually set ip information, and ssh into the router. I had a wan ip and dns ip addresses, but was not able to ping or lookup any domain names by the CLI, I was presented with an error.
I had to roll back to 26653. Sorry Brainslayer, I was not able to test if Freeradius was working in this build and report back if the change you made in Changeset 26981 fixed it. I'll give it a try next time around in the next build! _________________ Netgear R7000 w/r31780M <KONG> build
