is this model supported by dd-wrt because when i flashed it with standard generic v23 sp2 file it showed and error of insufficient memory so i used the micro generic v23 sp2 and it said invalid checksum.

anyone can help me out here? thanks.

I've tried to flash this using several different available Linux tftp clients, without any success. I did actually get in a tftp window during startup several times (where the transfer didn't just say timed out) but got an error that there was a source port mismatch.

I too did not have any success flashing from the stock firmware web interface.

I had a F5D7231 v1213 that has worked great for about a year. I also knew that this version allowed for wireless bridging. I bought another F5D7231 to use as a wireless bridge to hook up the Tivo and old Xbox in the bedroom, not realizing there were different versions of the same model number. Come to find out that the firmware on v2000 doesn't have a wireless bridging option and as of yet I haven't figured out how to "downgrade" the firmware to the version that allows for bridging.

I have been unable to flash the firmware installed on v2000 back to the older version (4.07.07) that I know has wireless bridging without getting a checksum error, so I would love to get DD-WRT working on here.

I'm starting to wonder if this new version is even based on a Broadcom chip, and have not found anything on google to verify that it is. I have stopped short of cracking the case open to verify, in case I decide to actually return it.

Well, I finally got curious and cracked open the case on my Belkin F5D723-4 v 2000 router. I will post a picture later. The router is indeed Broadcom based. The major componenets I can identify are:

1.) Broadcom - BCM5352EKPBG (RN0607 P 10) 772529 N in center of board

2.) MX T060920 (29LV160CBTC-70G) 20372600 Taiwan in the chip in front of the Broadcom

3.) PSC A2V64S40CTP (605AFA1K) Taiwan G6 on the left side of the card under a large metal card support structure (or heat protection since the main power capacitors are nearby)

4.) Towards the back near the ethernet ports is a long black structure that runs along the length of all ethernet ports labeled LB (I think, it is in a strange logo script) H5PN LF 0546J

5.) There is a long shiny metal box enclosing something on the right side of the board. I assume this is some kind of signal amplification since the leads from the antennas are sautered to the board near it.

6.) There is a set of four shiny pins to be used as jumpers just behind the shiny metal box. No jumpers are installed between the pins.

I don't know if this will help in getting the v2000 of the 7231 (I was getting very confused in the forums because there is a v2000 of the 7230 that is undergoing a lot of development work) working with dd-wrt.

I got one of these too. Hope something can be done with it. Those four pins are for a serial port.

Yeah I think the big thing holding this back from working is that the switch driver from Belkin is doo-doo. The funny thing is I took a look and the newer Belkin N1 router (which uses the same switching chip) is actually using an older version of the switch driver; which has a different config_vlan method.

It's definately flagging different registers on the chip. Now I have no idea what those registers do, if someone has a reference for the switching chip maybe they can post a link?
