I'm only getting a 2 out of 5 signal at the farthest point in the house, so I think a directional antenna would focus the signal to where i need it, 2 room upstairs. Can anyone recommend me one for under $45 and has the right connection type for my buffalo whr-hp-g54? I'd appreciate it, thanks!

Oh, and im in the US

google for biquad wlan, I have well-built 2, it's really easy and quick done. Keep an eye on national laws regarding transmit power. And yeah - forget all the other silly garbage like cans, pringles antennas aso. Maybe they work a bit if you trust a chance......I spent hours for nothing, only the biquad worked from the beginning. Exact working is recommended to get success.
Hope it helps

LaFontenna is 19.95, comes with a three foot cable with the proper connector for your buffalo.

here's some closeout ones, but you'll need an rp/SMA - SMA cable

and a bare-board one with a soldered pigtail

First, though, you should try freantennas' EZ12 windsurfer

I bet that will do the trick.

2 out of 5 is not so bad signal. Paper n tinfoil (AKA parabolic reflector, http://www.hariri.at/kyros/fon/parabolreflector_en.pdf) IMHO worths a try

Here you'll find an outdoor survey with such reflector:

the sale panels would be better, but I bet a free one would be "better enough" -- they've been great for me in several situations.

Please try both free ones and let us know -- do a netstumble before and after each.

thanks,
