Hello,

Have TP-Link TL-WNR841N router with firmware v3.0-r27456 (06/27/15) std.

Trying to get the following working OpenDNS, with selective restriction, and Ad-Blocking

To set up Ad-Blocking and followed steps in wiki (first part so far) and it did not work:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Ad_blocking

After the first step failed, I tried following
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=83268
and that didn't work either

Now I'm thinking of following step 2 of the wiki. Before I do that, just wanted to know if this is what I should be doing or is there some other way.

ALSO, am trying to set up OpenDNS as well on the router (see following post for details on what I did for selective restriction on OpenDNS).
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=284097

Can I have all of these working together? Or do I need to make choices? If so, I'd select OpenDNS with selective filtering first and consider Ad blocking to be the topping.

Thank you for the assistance.

For Ad Blocking paste script in the below link in Administration=>Commands section and save as Firewall

http://pastebin.com/pjG87MXf#

You can use DNS over it that fine...

I think those scripts are NOT recommended for routers with 32MB ram (and my router is 32 mb).

Thanks,

P.S. Why doesn't my quote work properly and why is HTML switched off for me. Used to work earlier..

Save this under startup:

_rogue=0.0.0.0

echo -e "n=1\nwhile ! wget -q -O /tmp/hsts http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.txt ; do\n\t[ \$n -gt 5 ] && break\n\tlet n+=1\n\tsleep 60\ndone\ngrep \"^0.0.0.0\" /tmp/hsts | grep \"^0.0.0.0\" | grep -v localhost | awk '{print \"$_rogue\\\t\"\$2}' | tr -d '\\\015' >/tmp/dlhosts\nrm /tmp/hsts\nkillall -HUP dnsmasq" >/tmp/wh

sh /tmp/wh &
