I hope I have the right spot. I have an old Linksys WRT54GS v7 trying to make it into a repeater bridge. Have a WiFi free hot spot about a 1/4 mile away, building a bi-quad antenna using an old satellite dish. I don't know what one to download. from the download page.

If you are connecting to a public hotspot I would recommend using 'Repeater' mode
not 'Repeater Bridge'. This will help secure you from the hotspot.
It should work ok for wired clients and 1 or 2 wireless on that router.
If you intend to leave this setup permanent and want trouble free access to the
hotspot I would put the WRT54GSv7 in 'Client' Mode and attach any wired clients to it
and attach an access point to it for wireless --- you will have better throughput and
will cause you less trouble... and you can get away from whatever channel hotspot is on.

In 'Repeater' or 'Client' mode the wireless acts as the WAN.
In 'Repeater Bridge' or 'Client Bridge' you would be on same subnet as the hotspot.

On the GSv7 I would use 14929 (08/12/10) or 25974 (01/20/15) or 26866 (05/09/15) for this.

As Bob said you will need the [dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic.bin] in any build.

If you don't yet have dd-wrt on the WRT54GSv7 you should read & understand ¬
