|
I have configured Port range forwarding that works when I'm connected in my home (Windows computer).
I'd also like that setting to work when I'm remotely connected through PPTP. At the moment I cannot seem to get it to work (program complains port is not open).
PPTP is configured for the client to have a fixed IP address, which is the same one configured in the Port range forwarding tab.
PPTP is configured to have the same IP address as the router, as described here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/VPN#VPN_with_PPTP
However, here http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/PPTP_Server_Configuration it is recommended to use a different IP address: "Server IP
Your LAN IP Address. (An IP from your network that is not used by any computer or the router).". Is this relevant for the issue?
On the "Security" -> "VPN" Tab the VPN Passthrough options are enabled.
In this page http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/VPN#VPN_with_PPTP the part "If you have Problems to see your Network Neighbourhood or Programs like VNC and Remote Desktop are not working, then you should Disable the Loopback Adapter under Administration -> Management in your Router." does not exist in my dd-wrt ctl panel (DD-WRT v24-sp2 (04/09/15) std)
The remote system is running Ubuntu and I'm unsure how to setup "If this does not work, then it is also useful to edit your new VPN Connection under Properties -> TCP/IP -> Advanced -> and select Use Standard Gateway of the Remote Network.".
Thanks. |
