@Awrimukas: Had the same problem with a few builds the previous month. Had to TFTP. Can`t remember exactly build numbers. Last ~5 builds upgraded smoothly w/o reset or brick. BTW, around that time I started using Yamon and a flash drive so it might be related somehow.

I never used Yamon, and the USB drive only sometimes, i dont think this could be the problem.
Interesting thing, tried to hook up my USB drive, and the router dont turn it on now.
It acts like USB port has nothing pluged to it.

Web upgrade did not worked for the past 6 or 7 months now, it always bricks my router.
Any ideas why is that? :/

Your particular problem is an old one, please see tickets

Can you please check your NVRAM usage on the status page ? Can you provide a snapshot ? Also, can you please check the size of a NVRAM backup ? Is it 8 bytes ?
See reports regarding this issue - users were getting 8 byte backup files only and out of memory errors:

So that is the problem I've been having since the 4/09/15 build I got working. It seemed like nothing else after would work and they'd all just brick my router. I'm going to have to try upgrading via TFTP with a buffalo-to-xx version instead of the webupgrade-MULTI version that keeps failing. And see if that lets me get a new build running.

as soon as ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/ is running anyways...

Noticed that you are still using stock firmware for your TL-WR1043ND v2.
Is there any special reason for this ?
Something I should know as I have the same router.

Status: OK (except for unresolved bugs)
Reset: 30/30/30
Errors: unresolved bugs see below

http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/4724 (8 byte config issue is still present)
http://svn.dd-wrt.com/ticket/4742 (webflash still bricks router)

Code:

root@router:~# df -h
Filesystem                Size      Used Available Use% Mounted on
rootfs                     25.3M     25.3M         0    100%    /
/dev/root                25.3M     25.3M         0    100%    /
root@router:~# nvram show
/dev/nvram: Out of memory
size: 20 bytes (131052 left)
root@router:~# nvram backup /tmp/nvrambackup.bin
/dev/nvram: Out of memory
/dev/nvram: Out of memory

Aside from those two very annoying and still unfixed issues, router seems snappy, memory usage seems normal, wifi operates normally and clients connect OK, SSH works and havent noticed any abnormalities in operation.

Updating with webflash through tftp2 would fail half way every time. Even though the upload stopped half way, I let the router run and it eventually booted back into it's previouis state. I then tried to update through the official Buffalo build 19484 with the webupgrade and keep settings instead of reset them. It took almost exactly 10 mins, but it went through and worked (Though it had failed before when I tried updating with a more recent build). I ran the checks like the poster above and it still shows out of memory though.

With all recent firmwares build and also this build I have the problem that after I reboot the router (this includes the reboot after the firmware upgrade as well) wifi clients cannot connect anymore. They tell me authentification problem. Then I save the passwords of my wifi security on the Wireless Security page and apply the changes. Then all clients are able to connect again.

I run this firmware build on TP-Link WDR4300 v1 and TP-Link Archer C7 v2. Both devices have exactly the same problem.

Router: Netgear WNDR3800
Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r28211 std (11/16/15)
Kernel: Linux 3.10.93 #11470 Mon Nov 16 06:37:57 CET 2015 mips
Status: OK
Reset: 30/30/30 before and after webflash (from 27506)
Errors:
- 5GHz WiFi download is slower than 27506. 28211 caps at 85 Mb/s. 27506 could do 93 Mb/s constantly day & night... tested with exactly the same configuration.
- after a reboot, clients reconnect as usual, but there's no internet access on them for ~1 minute. This is not normal. 27506 didn't do that.
Edit: download speeds sometimes go up to 90 Mb/s for a short while... then back to 80-86 Mb/s. Not smooth.

The NVRAM display & backup issues for WZR-HP-G300NH have just been fixed:
http://svn.dd-wrt.com/changeset/28247
http://svn.dd-wrt.com/changeset/28248

I don't know if this also fixes the webflash bricking observed on this particular model, which is characterized by an unusually large NVRAM of 128 kB.

Thanks for that nice tidbit...

Fingers crossed, lets wait and see but on the case of the webflash brick you need to wait till the next update before testing that theory anyway.

But flash wise, So youre saying that while the nvram is 128KB reported the webflash brick will be present?
the only basic info I dindt post was that thi has indeed a 128KB nvram reported.

It would be nice not to have to redo all the static IP assignments anymore for one Wink
