Does anyone have the WRT160N V3 version firmware from linksys? I believe it is named:
WRT160Nv3_0_03_003.code1.bin I found it on the net but would perfer getting it from a trusted source.
I currently have Brainslayer 14929 mini loaded on this router: Bin loaded is:
dd-wrt.14929_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_wrt1060v3.bin Using in repeater bridge it is dropping the local wifi connection frequently.
I bought this router at a thrift store today, When I got home (before testing it) I loaded ddwrt as I have many times before. This is the first time I have had any serious connection issues using the Brainslayer builds.
I have loaded ddwrt many times on mostly wrt54g and 54Gs routers. This is my first time loading on a N router, using newd-2, k26 builds. So the problem could be cockpit issue, ie I did something wrong...
Anyway, I would like to reload the original firmware to test to see if this router is flakey. So if you have the bin please post. Also, I believe all I need to do is do a 30/30/30 and do a firmware upgrade correct? I do have the cfe backed up. I have never reloaded the orginal firmware after doing a dd wrt build, so i need some direction here. Once I figure out if I have a good radio on this guy, i will reload dd wrt.
Ok.. Thanks for the BIN.. After doing some research, I decided not to reload the Linksys bin. Instead I did a 30/30/30 with (Brainslayer 14929 loaded) and setup the router as a AP and it is working fine.
I do have one question, I am getting a few receive and transmit errors not many < 100 so far for two days. Has anyone out there modified the TX power above the default for this Router WRT160N v3. Not knowing the impact I was hesitant to play with it. However, my son in a bed room on the other end of the house said his signal was a little weak connecting to the AP. I was not sure if boosting the signal would help or cause more harm/noise.
