First time post, so sorry if I make some errors here.

I have a Rosewill RNX-N150v2 that I had successfully updated to the official dd-wrt firmware available from their site. The wifi seemed a little slower than the firmware that shipped with the router, so I thought I'd try another version. I used the Dec 10 firmware from the ftp/betas site.

I did the 30/30/30 reset, installed the factory-to-wdrt - which worked fine, reset, and installed the 2nd file. After reboot, all I'm getting is a solid power light with all of the other lights blinking together at @ 1 second intervals. I initially let that run for something over 15 minutes, but there was no change.

I've tried a hard reset and unplugging for various lengths of time. Pinging to the default 192.168.1.1 (which I had never changed) doesn't work.

I'd try the tftp firmware push, but I get "ping: transmit failed. general failure" using the static IP/DNS settings.

I'm not sure what else to do here short of buying another router, as I'm not going through the hassle of jtag/serial reset for a $10 router.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks for your time.

Looks like you can follow recovery directions for tplink tl-wr741nd v1 and v2. You might try the webrevert (to factory, from the atheros forum--unzip it too) for those.

Likewise, whatever got your Rosewill stuck will also get the Tplink WR741N stuck, because they're the same.

Good versions for it may include 33006, 33555, 33986, 35034, 35831; but updating further won't have merit (as you found out already).
