Managed to flash the dd-wrt firmware all seems to be working OK.
1 question, is it correct that the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) button can not be used, and the orange light stays on all the time.
Will this be fixed in a future update?
Thanks

there is no plans to incorporate the WPS feature in dd-wrt. It is actually a huge security flaw.

The wps button can be programmed to do different things like turn the radio on an off.

the wps light means different things depending on how the router is configured. If it is the main router / gateway, the light means it has a wan connection.

it can be turned blue if you like.

May have misposted this earlier, pardon.

Cannot change wireless channel on e1000v2 using build dd-wrt.v24-18777_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v2.

The channel setting always reverts to Auto.

Thanks

(it is not a browser cache problem)

re ProTip : 'Your ISP has to support IPv6 First, unless your talking about doing IPv6 on your LAN side & IPv4 Wan side... '

""that's completely wrong... ""

Lol,no actually what he said was completely correct. --Thanks for pointing out which firmware to use to try ipv6 with the e1000.

Just a note to say thank you for all the work & advice here. I loaded the firmware update onto my E1000v2 last night, and had it set up as a repeater bridge to my E3000 in about twenty minutes. All working fine.

Which is best for a Linksys E1000 v2 - build 16758 as recommended in the posting of 9/4/2011 (http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=105008), or 16785 from the database (build date 21/4/2011, so not available at the time when 16758 was recommended)?

Thanks

Hi!

A couple of months ago i've flashed dd-wrt into my E1000v2. Sometimes its just crashed, then i realized, it happens when i want to connect to the wifi with my Motorola Defy+ or my sisters Galaxy Ace. Then i tried different fw-s, now i use this: http://dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2012/07-20-12-r19519/broadcom_K26/dd-wrt.v24-19519_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v1.bin but nothing has changed, when i want to connect to the router by wifi it crashes, and only reboot helps.

Notebooks or my ZTE Blade connects to it without a problem.

Has anyone seen a problem like this?
Or anyone know what could be the problem?

Thanks!
Norbert.

I just flashed my router with dd-wrt. What do i do now?

I did try this where after flashing my router e1000, i connected the ehternet wire from my isp modem/router from port 1 into, the wlan connection of my personal router e1000.

Then i disabled the wireless connection from my isp modem, and enabled it on my personal routser. Is this the correct way of doing it, or is there a better way. Or a different setting... etc?

Does anyone know where I can get the big or mega file for the E1000 v2?

Linksys e1000v2 is now supported. Please use attached firmware for flashing. You can simply update from original firmware GUI. After flashing be sure to restore to factory defaults.

thx Barryware for testing and patience.

Feedback welcome!

I'm having trouble with ipkg in that it won't update (produces no output). I've enabled JFFS through the web gui. Any ideas?

Edit: There seems to be an issue writing to the jffs partition. touch and mkdir commands execute without error, but nothing is actually created. The web gui reports 2176/0 usage..

Edit edit: I reformatted the partition (clean jffs) again and now I can write to it. However, it is only 384 KB with 188 free. Shouldn't I have 4MB?
