Hi,
I just wanted to confirm that I should use the dd-wrt.v24-16758_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v2.bin firmware for the first time if I have the Cisco E1000 V2.1.
I know a lot of people have confirmed this for E1000 V2, but not necessary confirmed working for v2.1.
Then Eko posted something about trial flashing dd-wrt.v24-16968_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v2.bin for E1000 v2.1, which threw me for a loop as to which one should I flash for initial?
I appreciate a confirmation from previous flashers and or experienced moderators.
Thx
P.S. I'll be using the peacocks thread on flashing initial FW.

Hello,
I just got a Linksys E1000 V2 (FCC= Q87-E1000V2) router. I got this router after i got to know this router supports VLAN Tagging (802.1q)http://www.dd-wrt.co.in/wiki/index.php/VLAN_Support.
I have flashed this router by dd-wrt.v24-16758_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v2. I performed 30-30-30 before flashing and also after flashing was done.
The router keeps on rebooting its own. I dont see anybody facing similar issue here which makes me think have a made any mistake in flashing?
Also i got this from USA (17$) though i am in India and unfortunately the power adapter that came with this router is not working. So i have another power adapter lying at home which give 9V and 500mA of power though this unit requires 12V and 500mA.
Also i face this problem as soon as i plug in my modem and configure my PPPOE my router.
I have also changed my MTU size from 1492 (default as that is what is set up in my modem by ISP) to 1400 but still facing the same problem.
I had a word with a local router vendor who is trying to sell me a different router may be WRT54GL V 1.1 or Asus RT N-16 and he said E1000 is faulty and it reboots its own and now this product has been discontinued but its weird nobody has faced this issue here.

Confirmation to myself:
First flash dd-wrt.v24-16758_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v2.bin for the E1000 v2.1
Then flash something better like:
dd-wrt.v24-17201_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v2
Don't quote me on this but I think you'll need build 16968 for the initial flash. I didn't bother reading the entire thread to find the correct build version.
Posted: Wed Aug 28, 2013 3:24 Post subject: Well that sucks.
I just got a used e1000 and upgraded the firmware to FW_E1000_2.1.02.006_US_20130015.bin successfully.
I set the computer IP to 192.168.1.8, hooked the cable into lan 3, disconnected the wan, did a hard reset, and tried to flash:
dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v2.bin
which says, in the router database, "E1000 v2 Firmware - Webflash image for first installation"
Whoops. I got to 98% complete according to the stock firmware upgrade utility when it hung. So I waited. The message came up that it failed. So I waited. I set my iphone timer to give the router 5 minutes, then I pinged it.
Nothing. So I did a reset. Nothing. No route to host and host is down errors. I've done a couple of hard resets. Nothing but a blinking power button.
I'm bricked. I was using Chrome on Mac OSX. Anyone else run into this? Guess I should have used the dd-wrt.v24-16758_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v2.bin.
Oh well, live and learn. Might want to clean up that router database. I really thought I had checked all my steps.
So after further investigation, on boot all the lights go on as normal, the lan and wireless stay down, the power light keeps blinking like it's locked in boot, and all the Ethernet ports light up when a cable is inserted.
Does this indicate I need to go in with a serial and not a jtag? Ps, anyone have any idea how I screwed up?
and all the Ethernet ports light up when a cable is inserted.
And by this, I mean I insert a cable into the wan and the wan light turns blue. I insert the cable into port 1 and the port 1 light turns on. Pings to 192.168.1.1 are dead.

Hi,
Initially i was using "dd-wrt.v24-16758_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v2.bin" for last 2 years. It was great. No issues at all. Yesterday i saw an updated firmware in the firmware data base and I flashed my E1000v2 with this firmware "dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini_e1000v2.bin".
I flash it successfully and it was working fine. But when i connect to the VPN (IPSEC), i found that the wireless speed drops down drastically and does not work at all. But when disconnect the VPN, it worked fine. I tried many settings and it did not work.
Finally i have to downgrade to the previous firmware which i was using. When i flashed back the previous firmware, i found everything is working fine again (wifi speed with vpn).
I want to upgrade to the latest firmware, but due to this issue, i am willing to do it now.

Just upgraded my Linksys Router E1000 V2.1 to dd-dd-wrt.v24-21061_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini everything works fine when i ping Router IP 192.168.1.1 response is 17ms something wrong going developer need help.

I've spent some time trying to workout which might be the best version of the DD-WRT firmware for my E1000v2 router.
I've had the router for about 6 months and it's all working fine. It's running DD-WRT v24-sp2 (05/03/11) mini - build 16968M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko which is obviously different from the suggested build number in the DD-WRT Wiki and the suggested build of K26 build 16758 in the first post of this forum.
After spending some time reading the Peacock thread, I've come to the conclusion that as the E1000v2 is classed as a new (post 2011) router, that the Peacock suggested STABLE build would be the 17790 or 18000. Is that are fair assumption.
Basically the router has been running fine for the past 6 months, however I have noticed recently that on my current build (16968M) some features like QoS just don't seem to work or don't work as intended. So I'm trying to find a stable firmware that I can now solidly rely on. _________________ Buffalo WZR-HP-AG300H: DD-WRT v3.0-r32170 std (06/01/17)
