Can someone with a kernel 2.6 build please confirm the Wi-Fi virtual interfaces bug.

Reproduce:
1) From default DD-WRT settings, apply a new username and password.
2) Go to wireless tab and add a virtual Wi-Fi interface and leave all settings default.
3) Apply the settings and wait a minute.
4) Go to Administration tab and reboot the router and see if it is responsive after 5 min.

It works for me in repeater bridge mode, remains responsive...

Yep... some radio crashes (corerv=16) and some (e.g. 17, 23) just don't transmit ssid after reboot. So on 610nv2 if you create vif on 2nd radio it doesn't crash.

Eko,

Can you think of a workaround for creating a virtual interface for the 1st radio?

Hello I am trying this build on the E3000 and https does not work. When I check the box for https and uncheck http, hit save then apply, nothing is accessible from a browser. Neither https or http

Am I doing something wrong or is this just a bug? Thanks

I was able to create a virtual interface using the 2nd radio (5 Ghz), but none of my devices would pick it up.

I'm not sure what's going on, but I think all the virtual interface pieces aren't working.

Edit...

I don't think 5 Ghz is working at all. I couldn't get it to work anyway. Confused

wrt310nv1 running nokaid-small newd2 2.6, wireless is listed as "Radio is Off", and attempting to start it with wl results in "wl driver adapter not found."

wrt310n has corerev=12 radio and it is not supported with K26 builds. Please use v24_NEWD.

Is this temporary or permanent? Both your builds and BS's, or just yours? I was forewarned of this with the new drivers, and am bummed as the k26 has been stable in most prior svn's on my 310v1's.

Thanks for the new update. Success updating Asus RT-N12 from previous version (16403). Updated wirelessly. Running as primary router, and communicating through a second N-12 (running stock firmware 1.0.1.2) as a repeater.

Using the OpenVPN GUI of the "jffs small" build, it produces an error something about "mssfixfragment" being an invalid option.

PPPoE "Force reconnect" seems broken with this build. After the specified reconnection time, the WAN status page doesn't change at all, but my DSL connection is gone. It used to work with svn15943 (both vpn-small). Known issue?

Repeater mode does not give a WAN IP on the physical interface...meaning it does not connect to the host AP. The virtual will allow communication with the router.

This broke between 16537 and 16754.
Failing on 5354 processor based units.
[UPDATE} - its failing on 5352 processor based units too.

You should be using dd-wrt.v24-16754_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-e2k-e3k.bin if thats the type of firmware you already have on your router. Unless something has changed?

Just a note on upgrading e2000, e3000 and e4200 routers already running dd-wrt. These need -nv60k.bin builds, but this will work only from now on. So for initial upgrade use proper mini-eXXXX.bin build and then upgrade with -nv60k.bin build.
