Just a note on upgrading e2000, e3000 and e4200 routers already running dd-wrt. These need -nv60k.bin builds, but this will work only from now on. So for initial upgrade use proper mini-eXXXX.bin build and then upgrade with -nv60k.bin build.

In order to flash from lets say "dd-wrt.v24-15962_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-e2k-e3k.bin" Do we now have to do the following:

1) dd-wrt.v24-16758_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e3000.bin
2) dd-wrt.v24-16758_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv60k.bin

Then do we put on

3)dd-wrt.v24-16758_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-e2k-e3k.bin (this is from BrainSlayer but I didn't see one with e2k-e3k on svn's site) Whats the difference? Why doesn't BrainSlayer's have a mega-nv60k.bin? Whats the diff from svn and BrainSlayer? Sorry I never used svn's ftp so I'm not sure if this is only pertaining to those builds or not.

Will this be the same procedure from here on out?

For those who converted from a WRT610N -> E3000, does the nv60k work on those "converted" devices?

I tried this mega build on my RT-N16 and I found the GUI (httpd) crashed randomly but routing is not affected. The same problem on BS16785 mega and big, so I rolled back to 16454 now.

Is there anyone has the same experience?

I don't have this problem on my RT-N16 on the BS16785 build.

Hi and thanks for your time. I just want to be sure about something and possibly clear up any confusion others may be having. What I want to ensure is that the steps I post below are correct for flashing Linksys E2000 and E3000 routers in the future.

For routers without dd-wrt:
1 - Flash with appropriate trailed build (from wiki instructions)
2 - Flash with appropriate mini-eXXXX build
3 - Flash with your choice of -nv60k builds

For routers with dd-wrt:
1 - Flash with appropriate mini-eXXXX build
2 - Flash with your choice of -nv60k builds

*My main point of confusion is if you need trailed then mini as well for virgin routers.

Thank you for any input.

Kevin

And additional question regarding -nv60k on E2000/E3000. If you have -nv60 build flashed already, can you flash -e2k-e3k on top of -nv60k build, or you have to stick to -nv60k only?

Been running the V24 NEWD Nokaid-Nohotspot-Nostor on WNDR3300
for about 1 week+ now - no issues here, upgraded from 15943-snow

Good solid radio on the 5GHZ and 2.4GHZ

I don't have this problem on my RT-N16 on the BS16785 build.

Thanks! I confirmed that this is a hardware problem on my RT-N16. It has been replaced, the problem does not exist again.

Has anyone else had the issue of 5 GHz not working on this build or found a resolution to this? In my area 2.4 GHz is super saturated and using 5 GHz N is about the only way to get a stable connection. Using an E2000 with corerev 17.

on this build i havent had any issues with the 5ghz band. maybe it could be your wireless adapter?

Probably not the adapters, we've got 5 different ones and none of them see it. Since it will be asked, yes they support 5 GHz N. It's two different laptops with Intel adapters, 2 MacBook Pro's, and an Xbox 360 adapter. It seems that people with E3000's aren't having the issue, maybe since they have two radio units and not one that switches between 2.4/5? same thing is happening with BrainSlayer's most recent build. Last working one was dd-wrt.v24-16454_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-e2k-e3k and it breaks after that on any build.
