I saw the 5ghz drop off on my wrt610n v2 when I went to this version (big), strange thing is it worked for a while then N just dissapeared, including on the menus. upgrading to 16773 (big) didn't help either (inclusing numerous firmware resets.) - in the end I went back to 16403 which has been very stable.

Clarification Please NE1?

So, EVEN if an E2000 is flashed with dd-wrt..e2k-e3k.bin build, we must flash back down to the ...mini-e2000.bin before flashing up to the dd-wrt....big-nv60k.bin ??

Is that correct? Because that's now how I read EKO's post quoted below.

I am getting the upgrade failed message when I try to flash dd-wrt.v24-16758_NEWD-2_K2.6_openvpn-nv60k.bin onto a E2000 currently running dd-wrt.v24-16454_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-e2k-e3k. Am I missing a step?

yes, the reading step..

Just a note on upgrading e2000, e3000 and e4200 routers already running dd-wrt. These need -nv60k.bin builds, but this will work only from now on. So for initial upgrade use proper mini-eXXXX.bin build and then upgrade with -nv60k.bin build.

I've upgraded an E3000 (using:dd-wrt.v24-16773_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e3000.bin & dd-wrt.v24-16773_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv60k.bin).
wl0_corerev:17, wl1_corerev:16

The basic unit features are fine for bothh wired/wireless. I'm seeing a couple of problems....

1) the device is handing out IPs to other local wireless networks. I've configured configured hotspotsystem on this device.

2)I have the router setup as a DHCP forwarder but it's handing out IP addrs for LAN connections as well. which brings me to the next problem.

3)the "Separate WiFi from LAN Bridge" option is missing from HOTSPOTSYSTEM and Chillispot (the only two i've tried), so this might be the cause of #2(or contribute to it.)

im noticing the connection rate slow over the course of time as well. I am using two linksys e2000 connected using repeater bridge.

something else i just noticed was that the traffic counter does not seem to be working, i disabled and enabled it again and it does not seem to be keeping track.

ive found that my issue with the traffic counter not working was because i did not have a timeserver set up.

still seeing a dip over time to 54mbps from 300mbps on the wireless connection when using repeater bridge

Hi and thanks for your time. I just want to be sure about something and possibly clear up any confusion others may be having. What I want to ensure is that the steps I post below are correct for flashing Linksys E2000 and E3000 routers in the future.

For routers without dd-wrt:
1 - Flash with appropriate trailed build (from wiki instructions)
2 - Flash with appropriate mini-eXXXX build
3 - Flash with your choice of -nv60k builds

For routers with dd-wrt:
1 - Flash with appropriate mini-eXXXX build
2 - Flash with your choice of -nv60k builds

*My main point of confusion is if you need trailed then mini as well for virgin routers.

Thank you for any input.

Kevin

It appears that you don't need to go back to mini.

Here is what I did:
1. Happily unpacked my new e2000
2. Flashed dd-wrt.v24-16785_NEWD-2_K2.6_std_usb_nas-e2000.bin successfully.
3. Attempted to flash with dd-wrt.v24-16785_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-e2k-e3k.bin, but nothing changed, even though the process appears to have completed successfully.
4. Attempted to flash with dd-wrt.v24-16785_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-e2k-e3k.bin, but again nothing changed.
5. Flashed dd-wrt.v24-16785_NEWD-2_K2.6_big-nv60k.bin successfully.

I just found that Access Restrictions by Keywords does work, but I must use a single term per box; e.g., "clubs" but not "golf clubs".

Is there a workaround?

I'm quite sure I'm going to brick my router without clarification. I successfully deployed dd-wrt.v24-14929_NEWD-2_K2.6_std_usb_ftp-e3000.bin to my Linksys E3000. The DD-WRT status indicates firmware version "DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/12/10) std-usb-ftp - build 14929". Which image should I use to upgrade to latest version?

Read this https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_E3000 then look through the new build release threads.
