i am wondering, is there any way to remove things from, or add things to the firmware? i have heard little bits about that being possible but i cant find instructions on it, it would be nice, i have a WRT54GS v6, i wouldnt mind takeing quite a bit of things out *i dont even use wireless, no DHCP server, etc etc*

btw also, is it possible to use an XD card instid of an SD card? ty

Yes, you can add and remove portions of the firmware with the Firmware Modification Kit.

You won't be able to do much with the v.6. The flash is only 2MB......uber tiny.

Dunno about using an XD card....not sure why you'd want to. They're more expensive. I've never seen a stand-alone XD card reader socket, although they do make an adapter to read an XD card in an SD reader...you could use that for the socket. With that in mind, they may have similar pin-outs, just a different size. I use XD's in my Fuji camera, and used to use the adapter to read them, but recently found a reader for my PC that reads XD natively. If you go that way and need it, you can have the adapter for postage. I think I paid like $15 for it. Good luck!!
