Hello friends,
I have done a big search but found no resolution to my problem.
Here is some useful information:

Linksys WRT54GL v1.1
DD-WRT v23 SP2 std

Upgrade path: stock firmware 4.30.9 -> v23 SP2 mini -> v23 SP2 std (error page was opened and it says: Upgrade fails. Then I restart the router and was the std version in the header. Just to be sure I flash the router again with v23 SP2 std) -> v23 SP2 std (now everything goes fine)

The only configuration I set in router is:
- my PPPoE connection
- enable remote access to port 8080
- Web Access - check HTTPS, uncheck HTTP
- check info site password protection
- set NTP server ip
- change the Style to red
- all others options are by default

After a few hours I am unable to access the Web UI. No idea why. I just open the Web UI and do not close the browser. In the morning the Web UI is not functional at all. Last night it happens without having any traffic. Just idle internet connection. What can cause this behavior? Any help and suggestions will be appreciated.

Thank you!

I have a similar problem.

Here is my setup:

WRT54G v6

Successful flash of the micro version.

The web gui will be accessible for 2 to 20ish hours and then will not be able to access it.

All services will continue to work including the PPTP tunnel but no access to the web gui. If you power cycle it it goes BAD. Power light flashes constantly with no access to ANYTHING.

Hard code IP on laptop wire in and pings work. TFTP the firmware back on, all is well. Wait 2 to 20ish hours and start over.

Anyone else have this trouble?

I will try the wiki suggestions found in the link on this thread once I get'er back up.

Thanks for any help.

BTW - I've flashed many v5's with no trouble so this one really has me stumped.

I experienced a similar inability to access the GUI. The GUI was the only 'problem' the router was doing its job just fine otherwise. It appeared to occur immediately after I selected the option

Info Site Password Protection

I have since turned this off.

Try turning that off and see if it is the culprit.

I am also using V23 SP2. Not standard using vpn version on a Buffalo WHR-54S

I fixed my problem by just disabling the info site.

Thanks for the tip though...
