I thought I'd start a new topic because my last one didn't have anything to do with this one.

I've got a Max232 to TTL converter connected to a serial port on my computer (and to the Fonera). Everything works up to a point where it seems like it finds an error with vmlinux.bin.l7 or something. Here's my error:
Code:
+PHY ID is 0022:5521
Ethernet eth0: MAC address 00:18:84:11:2b:38
IP: 0.0.0.0/255.255.255.255, Gateway: 0.0.0.0
Default server: 0.0.0.0

Anyone have anything to say about this?

I have the same output on my serial. Did you try pressing Ctrl-C or Ctrl-Break when it prompts you for ^C? It's supposed to stop at the redboot> prompt, and allow you to reflash it back to default settings.

Under device manager, double click the com port you are using to connect to the fon. Under the 'port setting' tab make sure flow control is set to 'none'. Hopefully this should fix your problem and you will be able to send the CTRL-C command when prompted.

If the CTRL-C command dosen't work, then you'll probably need to connect the ground wire. I am using a usb adapter for my old cell phone (LG VX8100). I connected to pins 13 & 14 for TX & RX (red & orange). I was stuck at the same place you were untill I connected a ground wire.
Also I am using a program called realterm.

Good Luck!
