We have serveral WNDR3700 v2's that had no trouble loading the dd-wrt v2 firmware.

However, we also have a V1 that bricks when we try to load the v1 firmware, specifically

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2011/06-14-11-r17201/netgear-wndr3700/wndr3700-factory_NA.img

After the download the power light comes on orange and after a bit the link lights blink once, the power light goes off and a green light all the way on the right (wifi?) goes on solid. Then after a couple of minutes it repeats.

None of the 30/30/30 stuff sees to help.

I can with effort tftp the original netgear firmware and bring the box back up. But every time I try to load dd-wrt I get stuck as above.

Any ideas?

Thanks! The image you link to did the trick. A shame that the database points to a bad image for v1.

I have brick my WNDR3700V1 repeatedly trying to get wndr3700-webflash.bin to work and the only one that worked was r16454. Smile

you can find it here
ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2011/03-17-11-r16454/netgear-wndr3700/

I can believe, that r16454 is not on wiki or Router Database. it would save allot of people from bricking their WNDR3700V1. Crying or Very sad Laughing

Build 16785 is newest one I can get working. The 17201 img bricks but apparently if you update with the bin from 16785 build it works.

ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2011/04-09-11-r16785/netgear-wndr3700/

I have same router and I have got 16785 working fine but updating with the bin to 17201 bricked it, so downgraded back to 16785.

I have the V1 router and have 17201 running succesfully on it. It bricked along the way but from what I can remember I TFTP's the older firmware then updated the firmware and now it works:) the only problem is that the wireless starts off at 300mbps then it drops to one channel at 130mbps :/

I have this problem with 16785 as well. Generally if I go into the wireless settings and apply them again, the router will reboot and everything will be at 300 mbps. I typically only have issues about once a month or whenever I've been playing with the settings.
