I may be able to get a v2 of the WRT54G.
Is this worth getting or should I keep looking for a v4 or something else?
Are there any threads here that could point me in the right direction?
According to the wiki versions 1 to 4 look like the better ones to get but have there been any issues with flashing the dd-wrt firmware that I should be aware of?
I would rather buy the right one the first time.

if i were in your shoes, i would keep both, v2 and v4:)

and for the very latest best linksys wireless router, i would suggest WRT54GL, the same
with the v4, only renamed:D its running linux based linksys fw, has twice the memory of the v5 and v6 of the wrt54g series.. its great! i got one myself:D

great link. Thank you.
I think the v2 that I have been looking at is a good choice now.

well, I'm not getting the v2.
I just ordered a GL.
I will get it this week or next.
I just want to get it straight.
first, reset to defaults.
flash with mini dd-wrt.
then flash with generic bin?
Then reset to factory defaults again?
according to the wiki this is what I understood.
is this the experience of the rest of the members here?
thanks for the info guys.
