I try every week a little with it, but still I didn't put it working, I think the problem is it doesn't arrive to connect, or I don't see any signal that is connected (maybe some traffic generated or some of the other data there are on dd-wrt (and there are a lot, xD) and of course the virtual wifi doesn't appear because it's not connected to the base wifi.

I don't know...
For now I still have a usb wifi with a huuuuge cable to arrive where I can pick the signal, and until I won't achieve to connect will continue like this, haha

I'll keep trying...
But I'm starting to believe that is not possible what I want...

Did you go to "Status->WLAN" and then at the bottom "search WLAN"? After you type the SSID of the WLAN you want to join then go there and join it by selecting and pushing "join WLAN".

Yes, a lot of times, but doesn't seem to connect (maybe is connected) but if it's the case I don't see anything and I don't understand why the virtual wifi is not created... I followed all the steps on this post and some other ones, from the beginning and all the steps, xD

I got a question.... I can't get my 1043nd router to link with the damn 1043nd bridge.... even when following the instructions...

Is there is minor step missing?

Ok completely followed all the instructions and have this problem:

I tried, WEP but whatever password I put in for the VAP on the brdige seems to be incorrect whenever you try to log in to it. WPA AES and TKIP will not have internet connection on the bridge's VAP.

after 4 days unsuccessful testing client bridge (i need repeater bridge but not possible on my device) on wr741nd-ddwrt, i found solution: install Gargoyle firmware v1.13.10, very intuitive and easy configuration (as repeater bridge), it works perfectly! Total time spent: 5 min.!

Only for wr741nd

link:

http://www.gargoyle-router.com/downloads/images/ar71xx/gargoyle_1.3.10-ar71xx-tl-wr741nd-v1-squashfs-factory.bin

absolutely you have to revert first to original firmware from ddwrt, you can do it with the file here

http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=85237&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

1. revert ddwrt to tplink factory firmware
2: install gargoyle firmware

that's all

DD-WRT has much better interface & options! But if you want to use your wr1043nd as a repeater only, Gargoyle is the way to go!! 1 screen page 2 minute setup!! I was fussing around with the dd-wrt client bridge stuff for hours!! still couldn't figure it out!! Came across this thread. I'm telling you guys, I'd post the download links, but I'm new here. The ONLY thing about Gargoyle/Tomato RAF is the QoS that we NEED here as well but they say its "too messy" which is wrong but whatever.. Gargoyle can't even have my WNDR3700 v1 function as a simultaneous router as its supposed to be, its either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.. it breaks with both unbelievable. Too much Gargoyle on these forums and its hardly useable Rolling Eyes
