Can not disable Wireless SSID Broadcast

I selected (Save&Apply Settings) Disabled Wireless SSID Broadcast under Virtual Interfaces but it's still showing and wont repeat my another SSID, plz help.

Disabling ssid hasn't worked in ddwrt with broadcom for a long time. Also see the announcements at the start of this forum. You might have other problems repeating the signal, depending on build, encryption, etc.

Disabled Wireless SSID Broadcast under Virtual Wi-fi Interface is working fine for me on build 16773M NEWD-2 K2.6 Eko. Post your hardware and build number of DD-WRT.

i got 2

Linksys WRT54G2 V1
Firmware VersionDD-WRT v24-sp2 (03/10/11) micro - build 16403M NEWD Eko

WRT54G V5
Firmware VersionDD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/07/10) micro - build 14896

both are using Wireless Authentication: WPA-PSK, Wireless Encryption: AES

I got it to hide by creating a virtual interface, setting SSID to hidden on the virtual, then deleting it.

remove virtual interface will work but it's will not repeat my signal or SSID.

Working good for me on my RT-N16.. You might want to put both routers on the same version of firmware.

And of course, read what Pied said to.

i'm new to this stuff, so i can update my WRT54G V5 with same files i use for WRT54G2 V1?

In this specific case, it happens that you can. However this only applies to updating from dd-wrt flashed routers, and you can only use it because both only support a micro build. It is EXTREMELY important that you read the peacock announcement to understand builds and how to choose them. You also NEED to follow the proper process in flashing, which is also explained in the peacock announcement.
