Here's a bunch of recent switch drivers. The current dd-wrt driver is very close to the ones from the e1500 and e2500 sources though they all have slight differences. The driver from the e3200 sources has some extra code for the BCM53125 and removes it from many of the code blocks that it shares with BCM53115 in the other drivers.

I see there's new CPU in E3200. I wonder how it compares to 4318 if it's clocked at 500MHz. Should we expect higher samba speeds? Razz

It is now partially supported. 2nd radio (5GHz) is not yet working, but all other should be ok. This router uses 60k nvram size, so for any further upgrade be sure to use correct builds.

Thx barryware for getting the router and testing.

I got the source code yesterday and Eko now has it. I don't know if there is anything of value in the code in regards to getting the 5ghz radio working.

Typically, the drivers included in the source code are binary blobs. The source for the drivers are usually not included or available.

It seems that progress on the e3200 is looking pretty good. Is it possible to get it placed in the searchable database now?

I just got my E3200 today and look forward to burning it with DD-WRT soon.

It won't get into the database until the dd-wrt port is fully working.

I think that log info is erroneous. Was going to get one of these today and looked over the pics submitted to the FCC (instead of coming here first lol) and that clearly shows a BCM47186B0 processor and not the BCM5357. Could be that both share a lot and are merely identified the same. Who knows.

I'm happy to see this moving along. Can't wait till my E3200 arrives and 5GHz support gets worked out.

Happy Friday indeed! Smile

BCM47186 is a chip package type of the BCM5357 chip id. Very Happy

New To The Charts: Cisco Linksys E3200 High Performance Dual-Band N Router: http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless/wireless-reviews/31499-new-to-the-charts-cisco-linksys-e3200-high-performance-dual-band-n-router

FWIW the E3200 was reviewed...if you jump to the last page, states the following:

Closing Thoughts

I don't know why, but Cisco is practially begging you to buy the E4200 instead of the E3200 by currently selling refurbished E4200's from its online store for $130 with free ground shipping and 30 day no-hassle, full-price return policy. There's also a 10% off coupon right now that knocks off an extra $13.

But even under normal pricing, I'd spend the extra $20 or so and go for the E4200 vs. the E3200.

You can further explore the E3200's performance and compare it to other products using the Router Chart and Router Finder.

Long time Lurker, First time Poster!

I just picked up one of these routers the other day. Interested in helping with development / testing for it.

I have a JTAG setup that I have successfully used to unbrick a WRT54G. Does anyone know if the JTAG Port Pin-out the same?

Plan on dis-assembling and taking some photos later tonight. If I can get the JTAG setup to work, maybe I can pull a copy of the stock firmware?

@barry

Smallnet Builder has different CPU spec posted then yours, they have a typo?

I've seen all that. There are also pic available now on the fcc site showing a BCM47186.

I did not remove the heatsink off the processor. The serial output reports a BCM5357 and that is what I used in my 1st post.

The router is ported and working with the exclusion of the 5ghz radio. This radio is a USB device, not a PCI device like the rest. I'm not sure but maybe this may be a 1st.

I have asked broadcom the the wl_high.o drive source code. They told me that they do not make the code available to the end user. I then asked Linksys for the driver source. They told me that it is proprietary Broadcom code and against FCC regulations to give me the source. (dunno what the FCC has to do with it). I then asked for the programming instruction for the chip. I have not heard back on that one yet.

We either have to wait till another router that uses the same 5ghz radio chip (Asus perhaps) where the code is available, or BS might be able to build the driver (if interested) with the info LOM provided.

I hope the devs can get the port 100%. This is a great router. I think I have already said I have never seen a router boot as fast as this one does. It is under 5 seconds from power up to ready.
