Anyone noticed any WiFi download issues? I'm getting < 1Mbps on speedtest. Uploads are fine (~6-7Mbps). When I try on my LAN connected PC, I get ~20-30Mbps down. I'm running the dd-wrt.v24-18774_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv60k.bin fw. Also tried dd-wrt.v24-18946_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv60k.bin, same issue. My Wifi Settings are as follows:

Wireless mode: AP
WIreless Network Mode: NG-Mixed
Wireless Channel: 11
Channel Width: 20MHz
ACK Timming: 0

Advanced Settings are all default except TC Power is set to 84mW.

I bought a new E3200, flashed with with the recommended image - dd-wrt.v24-17201_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e3200.bin

I then flashed (using dd-wrt, saying don't keep settings): dd-wrt.v24-16758_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv60k.bin

That seemed to stop it from working - I waited a long time. I notice I could still ping it on bootup (TTL=100) and managed to tftp the original 17201 build back on, but that hasn't fixed it. I've tried tftping the original build, but it always fails as I think it's too big (fails after about 6000 blocks using OSX tftp).

I've reflashed the 17201 build one last time, but now it seems to be in a constant cycle of rebooting (but not offering the bootloader TTL=100 ping)

I managed to scrounge up a Windows install, and used the official tftp / tfp2 utilities, and successfully uploaded the files (doing 30-30-30s before/after etc) and it just keeps pinging with TTL=100. After an hour, I get bored, reset it and it never pings again.

Any suggestions on how I can get a stable image back on (stock or DD-WRT), without using a JTAG (I'm pretty remote, so any parts I need to order will take up to 2 weeks to arrive).

What's interesting is that every time it reboots, it seems to be sending out a DHCP request...

Weirdly, my current DD-WRT router then has an entry in the connections list for it, resolving the MAC to an IP in my subnet, but I can't ping that IP!

Any ideas? I've tried the original firmware (downloaded from the Cisco site) and currently trying the mini-3200 build on the wiki...

Because I stupidly assumed that once dd-wrt was on, I could then flash any image with "nv60k" on the end. I've only ever used Buffalo WHR-HP-G54, RT-N16 and D-LInk DIR-615 before, and that was the case with all of them...

I'm now assuming that's not the case! The Peacock thread seems to indicate I have to go through another image first. If there's a preferred image to use for the "mega" pack, I'm all ears... But I'd prefer to get the router actually booting properly first Wink

I just bought an e3200 and flashed 18946 on it. It works fine from what I see.

Does anyone know if this router has onboard led pinouts ? I was using the led pinouts on my old wrt54gl to turn on a server and I'd like to do the same with this. How could I detect what leds are software controllable on this router?

i recently flashed my E3200 from default to DD-WRT v24-sp2 (06/14/11) mega. Since i got it running i cant access programs (teamviewr, utorrent, radmin, sabnzbd) via wan anymore even though the ports are open. The only thing i can access via wan is the router interface. Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong?

I would probably consider turning off the accessing the router web-config over WAN, or if you do have to keep it, ensure you use SSL.

I think you need to do a search on this forum regarding "loopback" issue. I might be wrong but this could resolve your issue as it has something to do with the port forwarding that the router does I believe.

I'm have a similar problem. I'm resolve this issue change the Wireless Network Mode configuration from "mixed" to "BG-Mixed".

In Android 4.0 I don't have this problem, but en 2.3 yes.

Not sure if you resolved this or not, but I was just checking in on the 5GHz updates and saw your post.

I too was having issued with slow wifi, and thought it was because I had moved into an apt building where everyone and their grandmother had wifi.

All the channels we swamped - the frequencies cluttered with signal - hence me here looking for 5Ghz driver updates.

My original settings were pretty much identical to yours. After I upgraded my Blackberry to an HTC, (BB needed NG mixed as it only had G) I swapped everything to AUTO. Channel, Channel Width, everything. After the switch, my speeds pretty much tripled.

Try setting to N-only, unless you need the G. If you do need the G, try switching the channel and channel width to auto. I know all the gurus are going to chime in with the "channel 1 and 11 only" since they don't overlap, but in a heavily populated area, auto was the way to go.

One note: I started my 3200 on the 17201, which ran fine for months, except the 5GHz, and the DDNS. I went to the 18946, and didn't see any boost. However my SSH refused to work. So I downgraded to 18777, which fixed the SSH issue. I didn't try the DDNS, since I didn't need it any longer (installed inadyn on one of my Linux boxes).

My current FIOS speeds are 45\31 over wireless - which I get on Speakeasy (Washington) using an iPad2, HTC One S, and an Alienware laptop. About 20-30 ft distance.

These speeds are from the Verizon 35\35 package.

I also wanted to quote the wiki on your Ack timing setting:
"Remember an ACK timing too low can cause issues with a slower client such as a 802.11b device therefor 300m should be the lowest one would ever go. " Mine is set to 300.

Just my two cents. Hope it helps!

Just bought a 3200 as it was on sale for $79.

Will see how it goes, and look forward to the 5 Ghz drivers. Out of all of the information i have read through i am still a little confused as the the exact process for flashing a 3200 (i have flashed a few wrt54g routers in the past).

At this time am i right in asuming i can flash it with the latest build up with 16Mb size. Then i need to install Optware to utelize the USB slot for NAS storage?

I did read through everything just wanted to make sure i understood before i give it a try... don't wantto have to build a Jtag for a brand new router!

Tip for everyone with one of these:

Do NOT use a build less than 17201 or you will brick your unit. You will not be able to recover without a JTAG cable

I've been caught with the same issue. Managed to trash the router with some older firmware. Crying or Very sad Looks like there is no "easy" way to fix without a JTAG. Any tips for JTAGging one of these ??

(Guess I'll need to get that JTAG cable...or send it back to Cisco and act stupid Rolling Eyes)

Thanks
Chris
