Hi,

I also also waiting for the large install package to get OpenVPN etc. Now I get an OpenVPN connection by my server. But the router should be updated soon with 5Hgz support and OpenVPN.

Keeping my fingers crossed..

And one more thing, after installation if you get 404 Error for any (every) operations, DON'T PANIC!

That is a browser issue, just close your browser (not the page, all the tabs) and re-open the web interface. It should be OK.

This isnt exactly true, theres isnt any reason to panic but there is an issue in the router.

When you change port triggering and try to save it the router stops responding for a few seconds and does not safe the setting. Anyone know how to fix this?

Barryware, i know you aren't a dev, but I thought you might be able to pass this along. It looks like someone has the BCM43236 USB driver. Question right? maybe they can share?

it is my unoffical understanding that the dev's have the required files & drivers to add support. It is just a matter of "getting to it"

hey all!

any news about 5Ghz for e3200?
i really hate latest fw (Ver.1.0.02 (Build 9)) from linksys - it's a real crap!

i flash my router back to default factory fw and still wait for fully functional dd-wrt build for 3200.

Can you access a VPN with this router aka E3200v1 with the DD-WRT firmware or is it not supported as of yet?

I am sorry but with all the reading I have done and 6+ hours I spent messing with the current DIY on logging into my VPN through the router and nothing working has seriously fried my brain. I just want a simple yes or no answer to the above question.

I'm a DD-WRT newb so bear with me.

I recently bought a Linksys e3200 and flashed with dd-wrt.v24-17201_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e3200.bin because I was following these instructions http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Linksys_E3200. So far I'm very pleased even though I haven't been able to get pptp working properly yet.

I see now that there are some newer builds available, such as r18024. Would I be better off flashing that?

Also, to get more features do I need to flash something like dd-wrt.v24-18024_NEWD-2_K2.6_mega-nv60k.bin? I'd rather use OpenVPN than pptp anyway. How does the upgrade process work? Do I need to flash the r18024 mini build for the e3200 first or can I just go ahead with the mega build?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I have just flashed my e3200 with dd-wrt 17201 build and it seems to have taken, but I can't seem to upload any newer firmware or even the stock Linksys firmware. I can select it and hit "Upgrade" but nothing happens. I have also tried via tftp and telnet. tftp sends the file, but nothing seems to load afterward. telnet lets me load the file, but when I go to "write FWFILENAME Linux" it gives me this:
Quote:
root@DD-WRT:/tmp# write dd-wrt.v24-18024_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e3200.bin linux
function stop_snmp not found
function stop_pppoeserver not found
function stop_olsrd not found
function stop_openvpn not found
function stop_openvpnserver not found
function stop_freeradius not found
dd-wrt.v24-18024_NEWD-2_K2.6_mini-e3200.bin: Bad trx header

Can anyone provide any insight?

And you have tried clearing your browser cache and cookies already and re-trying using the webgui upgrade method?

The -e3200 file is only for initial flashing from Linksys fw to dd-wrt.
Subsequent upgrades when running dd-wrt firmware should be done with an -nv60k file.

I have tried with -nv60k files as well.

None of those files ( -e3200 and -nv60k) are intended for flashing via cmdline, they are intended to be used via the web gui only and that's why you get the "bad trx header" error.
There is no need for fancy cmdline flashing..
