Nice! I will probably get one of these fairly soon, as i liked its smaller design somewhat better than the E4200.

Wow, really? All the other BCM5357 models have only been 300MHz.

I wonder what its max rated clockspeed is then. I can't find even a basic datasheet for BCM5357.

yeah I think cisco is getting away from the lit leds, and this is a cheaper to manufacture clone of the E3000. E3000, has dualband and 480mhz cpu at 64mb ram.. So this is just a tiny step up, and a little less expensive to produce... I have dumped the cfe on the 2500 as well.

Clocks for 5357 are the same as for 4718

The led's are on the back of the router. However, there are led's for the lan & wan ports. Green or yellow depending on the connection (100 / 1000)

There is no led for the radio(s) or usb port.

The power led is multi-functional. It blinks differently depending on what it is doing. Basically, blinks slowly when the router is booting or being flashed. It is solid when running, and blinks quickly when doing a wps setup.

The stock firmware has options for turning these leds off completely.

I thought it a plus to have no visible leds from thew front or top. I will use this for a 5ghz client bridge in place of the existing e3000 for my home entertainment center.

The flickering leds on the e3000 are distracting when watching the tv in a dark room.

The diff between the 3200 & 4200 in regards to function: the 4200 has a build in dnla server (stock firmware) and the 3200 has max wireless speed of 300mbps compared to the 4200 @ 450 (5ghz band, assuming you have a client capable).

Both the 3200 & 4200 are advertised having high power amps for the radios unlike their lower numbered cousins. This may be why I see reported radio problems in the 4200 thread. Maybe tx needs to be set very low like the high powered buffalo devices.

LOM probably knows already but I'm going to do a GPL request to get the latest Ethernet driver too. Can one of you running dd-wrt on it clarify how functional the switch is? Please test VLAN support as well:

Actually.. that was the 2500.. I said what I said cuz I know a forum member is sending Eko the router (2500)

In regards to enjoying my 3200.. I have just been gathering data from it. Once I brick it for good, I can use it for a serving tray when I have guests. Razz

Or as mentioned in another thread, Linksys had designed the perfect door stop. Shocked
