I have a Dlink DIR-601 and recently upgraded the firmware to r19342 from r16241. My problem is that I'm not getting the same bandwidth/download performance from my iPhone/iPad as I am with my laptop/desktop.
With the Apple products I'm getting around 1Mbps-6mpbs, but with my laptop/desktop I get around 12+Mbps...according to online speed tests. Supposed to get 15Mbps download from ISP.
Before the upgrade I didn't have the discrepancy in the speed between the devices.
I have checked the settings and made sure I've configured the following:
- Channel Width - 40MHz
- Security - WPA2- AES
- Channel - 6
- Network Mode - NG Mixed
- TX Power - 60
What else am I missing? Why the big discrepancy in speed between the devices? Should I set it to "N" only? Do I need to lower the TX Power? Is there a more stable firmware release for the DIR-601?

If its an iPhone 3GS or under it will cap at around 13Mbps cause of the CPU, iPhone 4 around 25Mbps, iPhone 4S around 39Mbps though the iPad even if its an iPad 1 should be able to max a 15Mbps connection.. stay with NG-Mixed as N-Only has problems recently, I assume you have tried other channels? All routers default to 1, 6, or 11 & while everyone shoves "use one of those channels so they don't overlap!!!11" down your throat, they aren't that good sometimes when theres 50 APs near all using the same channel..
Are the desktop/laptop speeds you are comparing to also using wireless or Ethernet.? _________________ LATEST FIRMWARE(S)
