Bump to see if anyone has been successful setting up 2 Belkin 750's???
Tips I followed are Example of AP-Client from here: https://code.google.com/p/rt-n56u/wiki/CommonTips?wl=en#Using_a_second_router_to_increase_the_coverage_area_of_Wi

Hi again,
So the post below was a couple of months ago and I still haven't been able to connect to the internet through the repeater Belkin. I have looked at every setting possible but still it is a no go. Sad

I now have it set up in my bedroom running a media player (wired)so that I can watch movies from my NAS. The NAS is downstairs and wired to the main 750.

The movies run seamlessly through repeater 750 but none of the internet features on the media player work.

It is just so weird that I cannot access the internet when hooked up to the repeater router. I can access all the peripherals that are running wired and/or wirelessly through the main 750 - printers, NAS etc. but no internet.

Sigh,

I have been trying for a month, unsuccessfully, to set up two 750's (one main, one repeater) following the tips mentioned above.

It seems like it should work and says that it is working but I have no access to the internet through the repeater Belkin.

If anyone has been successful doing this with 2 750 Belkin's please let me know.

Cheers,

Hello Mr. Padavan and Mr. Radmir,

Please accept my cordiality. I only wish to know if and/or when the version F9K1116 (v1) hardware is or will be supported. Please do advise and as always, many thanks for your very hard work!

The F9k1116 v1 uses a Realtek SoC, not RaLink SoC, according to wikidevi.

https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Belkin_F9K1116_v1

I don't believe there is any DD-WRT or other 3rd party support for Realtek SoC.

This thread is obviously for the Belkin N750, but I was wondering if anyone can share their experience of using the custom firmware on a Samsung CY-SWR1100 ?

There does not seem to be a separate thread for the Samsung router on the forum.

I've successfully installed the 084_base firmware onto a Belkin f9k1103v1. Very impressed.

I am awaiting deliver of a CY-SWR1100. Samsung seem to be a bit cagey about the technical wireless specs. I think it is N600, but looking at the FCC internal photos, it only has 2 physical antennas instead of 4. I couldn't see any on the main PCB.

Yes, Padavan supports Ralink/Mediatek chipset based routers only.
CY-SWR1100 works perfectly as Belkin and I prefer SWR1100 becouse of more convenient case.
But you will need serial-usb cable to flash SWR1100 via console.
N600 needs 2 antennas only.

hi radmir,

ah, so the CY-SWR1100 can't be flashed through the GUI Sad

Is it documented on the web how to use a serial-usb cable to flash the CY-SWR1100 or similar router?

I do have a 9 pin serial-USB (Prolific) cable but I presume I need additional electronics to hook up the cable to the CY-SWR1100. Can the flash be done using Windows or will it require linux?

I thought N600 usually requires 4 antennas for simultaneous dual band operation? Two for 2.4 GHz 2Tx2R, and another two for 5 Ghz 2Tx2R modes.

The RT-N56U and Belkin N750 both have 5 built-in antennas.

Read this tread http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=82160 and flash SWR1100 similarly.
You need Prolific cable, Soldering iron to connect cable to pins on board, Windows and Putty.
Two antennas used for both bands simultaneously.

Eureka. I succeeded using PUTTY and TFTPD32 for Windows. 084_base serial flashed into my CY-SWR1100.

Is it worth me creating a new thread and documenting with screen captures I took for benefit of other newbies?

I can also confirm I can subsequently update the firmware via the normal GUI method.

I've just tried to reinstall the stock firmware on my Belkin, and observed a side effect.

From: BN750DB_3.0.3.8-084_base.trx
To: F9K1103_WW_1.10.17.bin

I think certain NVRAM values seem to have been erased or changed.

Hardware was F9k1103 (01C), now reads F9k1103 (R01).
Serial No. now reads 00000000
The WAN and LAN mac addresses have all changed too, causing the Belkin default SSID and Password to no longer match what is printed on the base of the stand.
