can you access web page of router #1? If so then its possible to access internet also.
Yes, when my laptop is connected to router #2 I am able to access the web page of router #1. But, for whatever reason, I cannot access the internet. I have tried a number of settings but to no avail
Also, when my laptop is connected to router #1 I am able to access the web page of router #2.
what LAN IP of your #2 router?
Also, try connect your lap to #2 router and
ping the defult gateway IP of your main router which is directly connected to modem/internet

LAN IP is 192.168.1.2
when I ping I get "request timed out" with 100% loss
when I ping I get "request timed out" with 100% loss
Sorry, I got a bit confused and gave you the wrong info!
When my laptop is connected to router #2 I cannot access the web page of router #1 - that explains the "request timed out" & 100% loss.
It is when my laptop is connected to router #1 that I can access the web page of router #2. I can also successfully ping router #2 (192.168.1.2) in this scenario.
SeeWhy2,
I have successfully bridge my N750 today using BN750DB_3.4.3.9-094_aria.trx.
Thanks to Radmir & Padavan for their great contribution.
My #1 router is Belkin Basic router. IP is 192.168.1.1 wifi radio set on channel 11 with wpa2-personal encryption key. SSID name doesnt matter.
Now on N750 #2 which is going to be wifi repeater/range extender: connect it with ethernet cable with laptop and get access to web based acceess page(reset to Factory default is preferable)
set you LAN IP to (tricky part started) 192.168.1.2 and make sure you apply the changes. Now go to DHCP and do the following changes
Domain Name: 192.168.1.1
IP Pool Starting Address: 192.168.1.3
IP Pool Ending Address: 192.168.1.244
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
DNS Server 1: 192.168.1.1
and apply the changes
Now go to wireless 2.4g GENERAL set the radio channel to 11(your main routers channel) and set encryption exact you use with your #1 router then apply the changes(Use diff. SSID to recognise your #2 device)
Now go to Bridge tab and do the following
AP Mode: AP & AP Client
Wireless Client Role: Lan Bridge
Channel: 11
STA SSID: same as your #1(Case sensitive)
Authentication Method: same
WPA Encryption: same
WPA Pre-Shared Key: same
apply the chnges and wait for about 2 min. it will connect to #1.
If you see below pic you are good to go else try again
For the 2nd box which is to be configured as the AP-client (LAN bridge), after configuring a static IP address which is outside of the DHCP pool of your main (1st) router (eg. use 192.168.1.200) you must remember to turn off the DHCP server on the 2nd box.
There is no need to configure IP pool address range, DNS & gateway if the DHCP server is disabled on the 2nd box.
The solution described by kslakhani appears to have two DHCP servers operating on same bridged LAN which is not recommended.
I have 088-base build working fine as an AP-client.
guys i have a question about the usb mount, i have a hdd plugged to the USB with 2 partitions FAT and NTFS, both are read fine but i can't write on the ntfs one, is this on the hardware or software side?
I am trying to compile a build with QoS enabled using the latest Padavan commits. I'm specifically trying to use fq_codel to reduce latency under load due to bufferbloat.
Currently my 60/6 connection displays ~250ms of latency under load up from ~40ms when idle. I'm hoping to reduce that to ~55-65ms.
I have enabled the QoS flag in the .config file, however I'm currently stuck in the modifications necessary for the Belkin. I have applied the diff files provided by Radmir earlier in the thread but one of them causes a compiler error, I was able to fix the error but I'm afraid that the modification I made will cause the router to not boot up.
I sent a PM to Radmir and I'm waiting to hear from him, eventually I will test it as is and hope for the best. After that it will only be necessary to write the script for the QoS settings since the WebUI doesn't exist for it.
As soon as I get it working I will upload the build here. If anyone has any questions or tips please don't hesitate.

I can't get freedns to work with the Padavan firmware. Can anyone tell me what exactly to put in the DDNS fields for freedns? Do I put my username in the username blank or some token?
Here's the kind of stuff I'm getting from the log. I assume it's failing to log into the freedns site, but I'm not sure:

For a long time, Linux distros could read NTFS partitions but not write to them, for reasons of patents or something like that. I assume that's still the case with our firmware.
I think you're going to have to resign yourself to only being able to read NTFS partitions. If you want to write to that partition, I'm pretty sure you'll have to reformat it with FAT.

The device apparently does not exist; did you specify it correctly?
/home/root #
I tried to find and look at mkfs.conf to see what -T largefile is supposed to do, but I can't find mkfs.conf anywhere. Maybe that's not the problem, anyway; I'm just trying to understand everything.
Anyway, why is it telling me that /dev/sda1 doesn't exist?
Does anybody know what patches (against padavan's git) are needed to produce a proper .trx? Apparently the image format expected by Belkin is slightly different and according to a post on the issue tracker (https://bitbucket.org/padavan/rt-n56u/issues/170/smart-queue-management#comment-24401170) a patch is needed for mkimage.c. Does anybody know more about this? I could not find radmir's source repository? Why isn't that public? I have built a .trx from padavan's sources but the Belkin flasher did not accept it (it simply did nothing, no message no nothing). file's output for radmir's image and mine is slightly different in the model name... so there is definitely something that needs to change.
RichSPK: *does* it really exist?
Code:
ls /dev/sda1
If not then re-plug the stick or reboot the router.
