Hello,

I have bought a TP-LINK DIR-615 especially for the DD-WRT compatibility (I need the "Repeater Client" mode feature).
I have checked that the revision of the DIR-615 is H2(FirmWare v8.02), and it seems that there is no DD-WRT support for this DIR-615 H2 revision.
Is there any alternative to configure this router in "Repeater Client mode" ?
How could I help to develop or adapt the excellent DD-WRT firmware on DIR-615 Hx revision ?

Thanks for any help

I created a chipin to purchase a dir-615 for porting. Amazon.de has them for 32€ which approx. equals 50USD.

http://widget.chipin.com/widget/id/25fd947c8a775b98

If the goal isn't reached by 1th of June, I'll refund everyone. I'll contribute 15$ if there are other interested parties.

Hi all,

I know this is a tricky question but could you guys from DD WRT give us all an idea about how long it might take to develop a version for the 615 Rev H router?
Thanks a lot in advance for the help!!!!

German customs had the router a few weeks (yeay!) but last I heard they are picking it up now.

I don't quite understand how German customs is involved if sent from amazon.de to a German address, but maybe it's just bureaucracy at its best.

Thanks for the feedback and good luck with porting once the router has arrived.

In the mean time, are there any workarounds for WoL (Wake on Lan)? I tried forwarding the magic packet to the broadcast address, to an unused address .. nothing helps.

Thanks and sorry for the offtopic.

I've read tons of forum threads and tried sooo many things without any success. So my answer will be: No, there is no workaround without touching the source code of the DLink DIR-615 Rev H1.

I've tried to get it done with
- static IPs,
- the idea of manipulating the ARP table,
- using HTTP live headers so that I'm able to put a broadcast address in the port forwarding table a.s.o.

Nothing worked.

The only thing which was successful was within the LAN network, when the ARP table of the router wasn't refreshed. This means, if I turned off my server I was able to turn it on again with WoL (the device sending the WoL packet was also in the same LAN network). But this was only possible for a few minutes since the ARP table was not refreshed.

This is the reason why I'm also interested in the dd-wrt solution which will hopefully be implemented soon =)

best wishes

The router was already ordered and sent to the dd-wrt team. See the last posts.

Too bad, I also tried everything that was suggested. Even changed my subnet so i can freely forward the magic packets to the now new broadcast address.
