2x WA-801ND in Bridge mode.

If you setup this way WPA2 is not available, I already contact TP-Link about this and they now about this.

This is thiere mail to me:
Quote:

Dear Sir

Thanks for your suggestions and our R&D dept. are trying their best to improve our product.

For your case, we recommand you to choose Universal Repeater to achive Bridging. Click Search/Survey to connect to your other wireless device and then go to Wireless Security to do the same security settings as your other wireless device.

But this mode is not Bridge as it schould.

Today i received mail from TP-Link support:

Hi,

I have checked with our R&D dept. and was told that our product can only support WEP mode for Bridge mode. And there is no firmware to develop the function.

Really sorry for the inconvenience.

Wish it will be helpful !

So NO WPA2 for this device in Bridge mode Sad

If you use Bridge mode you dont have to be in the same subnet etc...
The two connects to each other and no one can come between them like a P2P Backhaul.
It acts just like a Ethernet cable but than wireless.

I have made a test file available for the router and there is also a revert to stock file in the thread for revert files.
How much more does it take for you to test yourself instead of asking questions and making posts about shortcomings in the stock firmware?

Today I have donate one TP-Link TL-WA801ND to DD-WRT (NewMedia-NET GmbH).

I hope they wil support this Access Point in 2012.

The original FW was good if they only support WPA/WPA2 in Bridge mode.

I have contact DD-WRT Team and they told me that they brick the unit and are not able to de-brick the unit unfortunately.

If I only have the datasheet of the main CPU I try to trace the JTAG connections.

Any help on that is welcome!
