is it possible to downgrade the dd-wrt from the WA801 to the original firmware? In case of warrenty for example?

Newbie that I am, I would think that that is what the webrevert files that can be found at http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=85237 are for (and for the WA801, the relevant webrevert file was originally made available earlier in this thread).

Okay. But is the update which Sash made also included?
He updatet the code on 22.04 for official support.

Not sure but I have a slight feeling that two things might be getting mixed here:

My understanding is that the webrevert file will not be changed anymore, unless dd-wrt make a fundamental change to the layout of their system. The webrevert file will contain some dd-wrt-specific wrapper around some stock firmware. That embedded firmware may not be the latest anymore at some point in the future, but once you revert back to that (possibly oldish) stock firmware, you can use the usual upgrade mechanisms to update to latest stock firmware. No need to change the webrevert file every time a new stock firmware comes out just so one comes out with the latest stock firmware version when reverting back from dd-wrt.

The changes made by brainslayer that sash posted the link to on 22.04.2012 will in my understanding be available in the next release of dd-wrt, or even some pre-release or developer version of it before the next full release (I am not yet familiar with dd-wrt release policy e.g. whether there are snapshots available).

My Bandwidth monitor seems to work.
I have a Problem with adjusting the TX Power.
The Info Page is always showing 20dbm. Even if i set it to 30dbm or 50dbm or whatever.
Is there a way to boost the Performance ?

Hi,

I'm new to this and it took me some time to get everything working. I have no idea where to thank the people who've modded DD-WRT to work on the WA801ND. It's a great piece of hardware for me, especially considering the price tag.

I've flashed my WA801ND with latest DD-WRT development release R19519 (avail here).

I'm using the device as a universal repeater. I configured it as a Repeater Bridge according to this wiki page: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater_Bridge#Atheros. It works well this way, throughput, signal quality and network stability have increased significantly. With stock firmware from TP-Link my WA801ND would always shut down when under heavy load (more than 1 MB/s) or (even worse) when playing online games. It does not happen anymore, I'm very happy about this.

BUT: Occasionally the device stops working. It happened twice within 2 days now. Both times the unit was not under load, the first time no client was connected at all (according to my other router's log it unlinked from network at 4am). The second time was about 2 hours ago, my laptop was connected but I was not doing anything online. I just noticed signal strength dropping suddenly. When the TP-Link drops out only 'power on' and 'LAN' lights are lit on the unit, control light for 'wireless' is dark. The device does not react to any ping requests. Powering it on and off solves this, the WA801ND boots and works just normal again. Does anyone have an idea what might cause this behaviour? I'm sure it will happen again. I'll try to track down this problem as my network is finally working as it's supposed to. Is this even the right place to talk about this problem?

@sebr
I don't know if your problem has been solved but you will need SVG-support in your browser for the bandwith monitor to work. I'm on IE9 and it works like a charm. Oh, and I've got WAN disabled.

Hi, I flash my WA801ND and when enable WLAN in admin panel it doesn't work more. Only reset helps but no WLAN (((

And when I try to reflash other version of SW I get 'Upgade failed'

So... My question is - how to rollback tplink firmare?

Thank you for any help.

1) Did you carefully follow the instructions before flashing? I.e.: Have you done a 30/30/30 reset _BEFORE_ doing anything else?

2) You might try such a reset now and see if the unit starts working again. Of course you will lose any settings made. Please report in case it helps.

3) Have you tried the firmware file to revert to the stock version?

The graph is displayed fine, but no change even when I generate traffic (see attached image). Any help appreciated.

This is weird. May I ask which browser you are using?

I tried IE and Firefox. Like I said it's not a problem of displaying the graph, it looks like it is mapped to the wrong interface or something like that. I am clueless.
