Hi,

Wil there be support for the: TP-LINK TP-WA801ND
It's an Wireless 'N' Access Point and it's fairly cheap in price, here in Europe +/- 30,00 Euro's.

It would be very interesting for Bridging two of these Wink

CPU: Atheros AR7240 rev 1.2 (0x00c2)
CPU Model: MIPS 24Kc V7.4
Wireless chipset: Atheros AR9238-AL1A
4mb Flash (Winbond 25Q32BVS1G)
32mb Ram (Zentel A3S56D40FTP)
(The PCB is very identical to: TP-Link TL-WA901ND)

FCC ID = 'TE7WA801ND'

They got 20dBi (100mW) RF output power!!!

Thanks for any help or information on this device!

PM Brainslayer, he will be the one doing the support for it.

I can make you a test file, the dd-wrt 16785 firmware for WA-901ND with a modified header so it will be accepted by the 801.
If you don't dare to test it then donate a router to Brainslayer so he can work on it.

Thank you for your post.
Of course you can made a test file, i love to try it.

Are here people who like to donate some money for donating a TP-WA801ND to BrainSlayer.

I can buy the TP-WA801ND for 38,44 Euro.
To send it to BrainSlayer there wil be an extra 8,60 Euro, 38,44 + 8,60 = 47,04

My part in this donation wil be 20,00 Euro who is interesting in donating the rest of the money?

File for WA-801ND, based on WA-901ND rev 16785.
Tested, not by Vaako, but by another user who requested the file and actually had the router..

Attachment removed, use official dd-wrt builds.

yes, i am the one testing dd-wrt on tl-wa801nd (thanks to LOM for the firmware)
i am using it as client for another access point
setting it as "client bridge(routed)" or "client" didn't add ath0 to br0. trying to add later ath0 to br0 also didn't seem to do any good.
so i had to use "wds station" mode.
no other problems found so far.

offtopic
what is br0:0 and why does it have a 169.254.x.x address?

deejayq, read Brainslayers response to what looks like a problem like yours:

http://svn.dd-wrt.com:8000/ticket/2223#comment:2

How do you use the ethernet port on the WA801ND, is it connected to your lan so the WA810ND is an access point?
Or is the ethernet port connected to your computer/xbox360 or similar so that the WA801ND is a wireless client to your lan.

will it be included from now on in dd-wrt public builds (from other downloads etc..)?

ethernet port it's connected to a network card, intended to be used as a transparent bridge between two networks in the same subnet

Hi LOM,

How do DD-WRT firmware detects (recognise) the router model?

I assume that this modified firmware wil display WA-901ND instead displaying WA-801ND.

At the moment my Bridge link is working perfect with original firmware but can not use WPA2 as wireless security and therefore i was hoping that DD-WRT would do this.

Also what TX power output gives DD-WRT vs original FW?
Now i have 100mW TX output and i'm very happy with it.

Please post your findings here.
