There is another revision of the DIR-600 router available on the market

FCC-ID: KA2IR600B5

it is built on Ralink RT5350,
contains 32MB RAM
no info about flash size

An attempt to initial flashing described in Step-by-step instructions from out-of-the-box factory firmware
with
dlink-dir600b-factory-webflash.bin
fails with message
"Invalid image file. Please select the correct image file and upload it again."

router came with FW 2.10 dated 26 Jan 2011,
this FW is not available in internet

having the same problem. the current dd-wrt firware for the dir-600/dir-300B is not compatible with our new revision 5.

as for the original firmware:
found an italian page that's giving some information
http://www.dlink-forum.info/showthread.php?tid=653

for the firmware:
http://pmdap.dlink.com.tw/PMD/GetAgileFile?itemNumber=FIR1100016&fileName=DIR600B5_FW210WWB06.bin&fileSize=18710.0;3559564.0;158681.0;156854.0;159446.0;155167.0;

flash this through the emergency webinterface and you should be ready to go again.

i really hope the dd-wrt team is supplying us with a version of dd-wrt compatible with the new rev.5 soon as the original firmware (though beeing decent) is not that flexible as dd-wrt is Smile

The flash chip is the 8-in DIP chip with a pink spot on right outside of the cpu shield frame.

Any chance for DD-WRT for this revision of the DIR-600? Smile

Does this mean that DD-WRT cannot be used on this router?

I just got 5 of these B5 versions by mistake (ordered the B2 ones).

I really wanted to flash them all with dd-wrt and make one big VPN network, and just found out that i cant put anything on it.

Does anyone know when would it be possible to use dd-wrt on this device ?

If not soon, I would have to buy 5 new devices that support dd-wrt.

Almost same situation here. My DIR-600 B2 died and I have got it changed with a brand new B5. I hope that the DD-WRT gurus here will figure it out soon. Smile

Hello,

I have the same issue with my DIR-600 with FW 2.10:
I am trying to flash dd-wrt for dir-600 (following the steps indicated at http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/D-Link_DIR-600_/_300vB) and I get the message "Invalid image file.(...)".
My final goal is to setup the DIR-600 as a repeater and I didn't find any other way but using dd-wrt firmware.

Thank you for any updates on this issue.

Is there any progress or some new info about the Ralink RT5350? Is it possible to flash it with DD-WRT?
