Hi there guys !
I've been following the threads here for a long time (since i bought my old wrt54g v8.2) but never needed to register (always found answers for all my questions just by reading... thank you all for that!)... until today.
Well, for 3 days now i've been trying to get my hands on build 16830M from Kong, since the update to 17140 broke my samba shares (even when using opt samba!). I've found that, as Kong keeps the same link for his mod, so that it always point to the newest version, and apparently there is no repo, once a new version is released, the old one is "kind of lost"... and we can turn out in trouble if something goes not as well as expected and there is no old version to revert back to (if you did not renamed the old version before dowloading the new, as i should have done!)!
That said, I ask if there is someone here which uses Kong mod which happens to have saved build 16830-(minidlna version) and are willing to send me a copy?
Also, isn't there a user of kong's mod with means to hold a repo with at least the three last builds? I see now i should have kept copies!
Thanks a lot everybody... specially BS, Eko and many other gurus around here...

The latest Kong build 17XXX (forgot the exact number) works extremely well on ASUS RT-N16. No issues with Samba 3.5, wireless etc. Highly recommended! I use the "frater-build" which enables USB-support by default.
-nmbd not included (you have to use \\routerip\share to connect, instead of \\routername\share)
-wiviz not working
-wireless signal decreases over time (reboot fixes it)
I have to test a few things tonight if they work out well, the above probs should be fixed.

I run Samba from Optware and haven't noticed that problem.
Since I automatically reboot every week I haven't noticed the problem with wireless signal either.
Don't use Wiviz so no issue
Great build! Thank you Kong! Of course any improvements are highly appreciated.
Hey Kong i was wondering if it was possible you can make a firmware with Samba 3/ Mini DLNA/ openvpn all in one?? Can this not be done like tomatousb?
If you could do this i would switch over in a heartbeat...i just dont want to give up one or the other as i use both... _________________ ASUS RT-AC68U [Kong build 24850] = main router

Thank you for all the efforts. As desiromeo requested it would be nice to have an all-in-in firmware. Since RT-N16 have 32MB flash do you think it is possible to make a special firmware for these routers? Also is it possible for you to include e2fsprogs and swap-utils in the image. Everytime I need to reformat my drive I have to flash to tomato to be able to reformat my drive and create swap partitions. Thanks again.
