Hi everyone,

I want to install this firmware but should I flash directly the file v7 from the first post directly from ASUS stock as I am on stock now (because it has trx extension and it looks like it would work), OR I must first flash asus-to-ddwrt.trx and then Asus-RTN13U-webflash.bin build 03-19-12-r18777 from here:
ftp://www.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2012/03-19-12-r18777/Asus-RTN13U/

What is the recommended procedure for noobs?

You should flash the v7 file using the Asus firmware restoration utility. It doesn't matter what firmware is currently on your router.

Question: Do you plan to include the NTFS driver?

Sadly there is not an exFAT implementation for Linux, which is the defacto standard for cross-os interoperability in desktop-land (Mac and Windows).
The tendency is to have it supported everywhere, it's already showing up in cameras and smartphones.

Barring that, NTFS provides for a proven way to write on NTFS on Linux and Mac, which makes it a desirable filesystem to support.

Question 2: I see people asked whether this firmware supports DLNA, and it seems to not have any included.
Do you plan to add support?

My personal goal is to have USB+SMB+AFP+Torrents+DLNA served from the router. I am reading about installing stuff, but it's a convoluted process.
I find it would be better to have it all in one custom firmware, rather than several separate customization projects.

Hi everyone. Is it possible to dedicate one of the LAN ports for IPTV STB device i.e. to work as a simple switch?

I did not found info in forum about it.

In other words how can i do this:

In the current DD-WRT interface which does not have this setup screen?

Hi everybody!
I have just updated my rt-n13u b1 to mod-v7 firmware, and my S99trans script in /opt/etc/init.d does not run automatically. But, for example, S10httpd runs automatically without any problem.
Any script in /opt/etc/init.d and the directory itself are executable.
Also, I can manually start S99trans, and transmission-daemon works perfectly.

Hi, amit

Do you still have a link to older mod (based version 18024 or earlier - which is much more stable).

r18777 seems to be very unstable (not special to your build - inherited from base build) - for Example:

  1. Startup/firewall/custom/cron scripts don't run after a while (correctable only by a reflash - NOT EVEN Factory reset)
  2. After sometime - an hour or two iphone/ipads fails to connect to wifi.
  3. Wifi interface loses connection with 3g after an hour two or so. Only reboot to fix.
  4. All these get aggravated the more times you make changes to the dd-wrt settings. After around 20 "Apply" even the CPU usage starts rising.

There isn't a specific "use 300mbps" checkbox or option. Instead it is other settings that will impact if your router can run at 300mbps. For example, using a 40mhz channel width.

Hey all Wink

So i'm thinking of getting a new contract to 4G; my question is, which USB modem/pen is best to work with our N13U-Rev B1 router right out of the box in the 18777?

The Vodafone K5005 (which is the Huawei E398), or the ZTE MF820D ?

Thx Wink

Where do I get the V4 of this mode? With V4, I was able to mount FAT32 partition with no issues. But with V7, I can only mount ext3 partition.
thx

Put the fat driver on the /opt partition on your usb stick. After mounting opt you can mount any partition you have drivers there.

Hi all,

Sorry for my late reply.

First of all let me say, my router is running v7 till date without any issue. In my experience v7 is most stable then all the previous releases. I have tested fat32, ntfs, ext2, ext3 and ext4 file systems and all works fine.

@AZERTY123, @tkg_1993 I would try to upload all the previous mods soon...

@tkg_1993 FAT32 partitions are working perfectly on my router (auto mount works fine with USB keys).

Finally, thanks to the dd-wrt team for the great work. They have integrated/fixed all the changes of this mod in trunk. Waiting for next release...

Regards
