Hi,
TWC just bumped me from 100 to 300Mb DL. I am running "DD-WRT v3.0-r27506 (07/09/15) giga" (latest beta) and I am unable to get anything over 100Mb.
I have read that DD-WRT cannot leverage hardware acceleration and I will not achieve anything close to gigabit on this router without reverting back to ASUS firmware, but I figured I would at least get 300 or anything over 100. It seems that I am capped at 100 as if the interface is hard set.
What can I do to achieve greater than 100Mb WAN speed?
they may have upped your service but do you have a modem capable of 300mb speed?
the only one they have is the new Arris/Motorola 6183. Did they provide this modem to you?
the older 6121 and 6141 top out at 50 and 100mb. _________________ Please state what make and model router plus the build number and type of DD-WRT you are using. I should have specified.
I originally had a Surfboard 4161, which is rated for more than 100Mb, but they don't plan to support it at 300. So, I got the 6183, which is supported.
I can plug my PC directly into this modem and I get 300 no problem. It's for sure the router.
yes, most likely due to the lack of hardware acceleration, there is a limit on this router's upward capability with dd-wrt. _________________ Please state what make and model router plus the build number and type of DD-WRT you are using. I believe it works on the Netgear 7000 and the Asus RT-AC68U due to the hard work of Kong. I don;t know if this is dueto his insertion of native drivers or overclocking. Also works if you use the Merlin versions of the firmware for routers supported by Merlin.
Other than that, I believe you are correct that there is a speed penalty when using DD-WRT _________________ Please state what make and model router plus the build number and type of DD-WRT you are using.
