Did development on K3-AC stop?

This bring up a great question... if this build is no longer being developed, Kong, could you please post some instructions for those of us want to continue flashing new updates for the wndr4500? Can we overflash the version that is available through dd-wrt itself now, or will that hose it up? Any information that can be provided to continue on would be much appreciated...

Many thanks go to Kong for all his efforts on this! Wink

Thanks,
Mike

There is nothing important that justifies a new build.

BrainSlayers and my builds can always be mixed, same dd-wrt core.

@Kong: would you be so kind and include the changes of 23900 in your changelog? The changes are still missing =)

FYI: I had been having reboot issues with my WNDR4500v1 on 23900. I was running Ubuntu 12.04 and the BRCMSMAC driver. I upgraded to 14.04 and the STI driver, last week. The router hasn't rebooted since. It might be a major coincidence - but definitely worth reporting...

Interesting,
Are you on the new or old driver version?

I'm fairly certain I've got the xxx installed.

EDIT: I just went back through and reviewed my own posts - running 23900NEWD.

I'm on the latest firmware for my WNDR4500v1. v24-sp2 (04/17/14) kongac.

For some reason, I don't have a Status > OpenVPN tab. The only ones I have are Router, WAN, LAN, Wireless, Bandwidth, and Sys-Info. Do I need to flash with something else to get that tab?

I flashed from the stock firmware using Kong's dd-wrt.v24-K3_WNDR4500.chk, and then used 23900 dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_NEWD.bin. I see Kong states that there are some "core builds", but I"m not sure if that's what I need to do. I had some problems with OpenVPN, so that's what has led me to this question.

For some reason, the OpenVPN tab is wonky. I tried connecting using a different setting style, and now the OpenVPN tab appears, but doesn't provide any info.

I picked up a Netgear R6250 and flashed it using Kong's dd-wrt.K3_R6250.chk and 24200M dd-wrt.v24-K3_AC_ARM_STD_NEWD.bin. I get the exact same thing - the Status > OpenVPN tab shows nothing. I'm also having troubles connecting using OpenVPN on the Services > VPN tab OpenVPN Client with both routers.

It could be me...I'm a rookie at this, but if two different routers using Kong's releases are acting the same way, then is it me or is it the firmware?

Should 23885 and 23900 be moved to the "I have a heartbleed issue" folder like the other ones were too?

Awesome! Thanks for continuing to work on this, Kong. We missed you. I'll try to get the new flash in tonight.

what current beta/stable functions properly with v1 of this router?

I flashed the newest beta from ftp.dd-wrt.com downloads but it didn't use gigabit ethernet, only 10/100.

Hi,

I was hoping Kong (or anyone else) could help me out here.

I have a WNDR4500 with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (04/08/14) kongac
(SVN revision 23885M) installed.

I've noticed that if I test my pings for about 15 minutes straight, I will get high pings (like over 1500 ms) for a while (30 seconds, sometimes up to 3 minutes), then it will go back to normal, and this cycle will repeat...

When I plug my laptop directly into my cable modem, it's very stable.

How can I troubleshoot this ? Are there settings in the admin I should check ?

Thanks for any insight.
